I purchased this brand, another brand that had a 750 dosage and then had to settle for the Carlson's brand at 500mg because I DID most definitely feel the 1000 right away. I was too alert though only took one in the a.m. I also had a bit of a headache though it may have been due to taking this and continuing to drink my morning half caf/ half decaf coffee. I may have tried just decaf coffee, but ultimately, I titrated down to the 750. Even that was too strong for my needs so went to the Carlson's 500 mg. If you don't have difficulty sleeping easily as it is, you may want to buy these and see what happens. I ended up emptying half of the capsule out to get what the relief I was seeking without interfering with sleep. After getting tired of that, I ordered the lower dosages. I think no matter what brand you try, you should expect to feel something very soon if not right away. As I mentioned in my other response, the clear headedness was first to be noticed. The mood lifting followed shortly thereafter. Also, for point of reference, I am 5'2 and about 140 pounds and the 500mg once a day is all I can manage without staying up longer at night than I'd like. Once you find the right dosage for you, you'll enjoy a clean, subtle lift---meaning no side effects.

Answer:	They are best when kept in a cool place. I left mine in a hot car and they’ve smelled bad since. The bottle says to keep them between 59-86 degrees f, but I like to refrigerate them so they don’t smell as bad. They usually have a slight bad smell anyway.
