Answer:	It’s not so much a question of being strong enough; rather, it’s the design of the “grabbers” that might be an issue. This model seems to work best with smaller objects. If you could get the “grabbers” or “jaws” around the handle of the fabric softener bottle, it would be strong enough. It is well made. I own several grabbers, and each one is better at picking up certothimgs. For ex., one of mine is very good for picking up coins that fall on the floor,but it would’ve useless at picking up a fab soft bottle. This partiodel is good for picking up articles of clothing and other small items. The jawsjust don’t open up all that wide. But it is a quality item.

Answer:	Put both hands on the silver rod between the black plastic covering in the middle of the rod. Then jerk rod to open the silver rod up at the black plastic cover in the middle of the silver rod. There's a cord inside the silver rod that allows you to fold the gripper.

Answer:	When open, the jaws are 4 inches in width (10 cm). These grabbers are exceptionally good at picking up the smallest item from the floor. I can enthusiastically recommend them.
Question:	Where are these made
Answer:	China, they are faulty. They last about two weeks then a design flaw makes them stop functioning. The design flaw is that there is a plastic piece inside where the cable runs that as you use the device wears a groove making the cord that operates the grabber stop being able to grab as the cord gets stuck in this groove. There is no way to fix it, it just stops being able to open and close making it worthless. Hope that helps.

Question:	Would this product work well for picking up small sticks/branches, leaves, after a storm or windy day
Answer:	Yes, definitely. I use mine almost exclusively for yard work. We have a lot of pine trees and I use my older 26" model for picking up pine cones, small branches, and clumps of leaves. (A rake would be better for individual leaves; otherwise, you would have to pick them up one at a time.) The spring just broke in mine (after over 30 years of yardwork!) and I just ordered the 32". The 26" was a little short for yard work, but the 32" should be just about perfect.
Question:	I am preparing for major spinal surgery. Exactly how does this help with getting dressed? I haven't seen one of these yet
Answer:	I had spinal surgery in mid October. These have been extremely useful in picking things up I've dropped, pulling up pant legs to dress since I'm unable to bend, accessing items that are stored too low to reach, etc. I have had other grabbers around the house before to access things on high shelves. Answer:	4-1/2" on the 32" grabber and 4" on the 19" grabber. That's not absolute, because the jaw material is flexible and slanted slightly, so the actual width can be slightly larger, if necessary.

Answer:	Yes they are. They are based in Texas but they have warehouse is all over the United States. Mine came from Maryland. I do want to say this, though, I absolutely love, love my reachers. I wish I had bought this type sooner. They look like they may not be able to pick up a small item but I can pick up the tiniest crumb my great grandson drops or the thinnest item like a penny. Very sturdy and with me having arthritis in my hands they are not hard to squeeze.
Question:	Would it be easy for small hands to maneuver this tool? Could a young child operate the handle
Answer:	My 6 and 7 year old grandsons easily use the grabber and the youngest wants one for his birthday. Of course, the weight of what they grab might make a difference. I can get a 4 lb sack of sugar from a shelf with it. I don’t think a small child could grasp it tight enough for heavy things, but certainly a child could pick up paper and light objects and easily operate the handle.

Answer:	The jaws open a good ,5inches. They will pick up a bottle cap and a soda can. I like mine.

Answer:	Actually it will pick up small things! Paper clips, small scraps paper, etc. The foam type material on the inside has grabber like ridges.

Question:	Will this help take out the light bulbs that are in the ceiling
Answer:	I tried. As some pointed out, it did not work so well and good chance to drop the light bulbs. However, I did a few things and then it worked well. (1) Put foam tubing (those to make wider/larger grip for forks etc. e.g. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MXVPY53/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) around the flat tips. This gives it stable grip even with round/smooth objects like light bulbs. You can easily remove the foam tubing afterwards and reuse it later. (2) Use a velcro strip to secure the handle and free up both hands. Then you can use both hands to rotate the grabber to loosen or tigthen the light bulbs easily. (3) for additional secuirty, I crafted from chines take out box (transparent) two pieces to the two flat sides to form a cup-like basket.

Answer:	No , you have to keep tension on the trigger at all times.
Question:	Would a 5 year ild be able to squeeze thw handle to pick-up trash
Answer:	Depends on the child's size/strength. But, the 32 inch length might be long for a 5 year old. A shorter one might be easier.

Answer:	It is clumsy to hold if you have arthritic hands or fingers. I am 79 and it is more difficult than I thought it would be. I think I could pick up a small soda can, but could never pick up a large bottle.

Answer:	I never gave it a thought but if the screw is tight to the object or inset the answer would be No.If the screw is loose and you can use the grabber it might work Personally I would get a ladder and screwdriver and get the job done .Period.

Answer:	I use mine for river litter pick-up. It's done okay so far, but the "grabber" ends will bend if trying to pull on something buried in the bank a bit. As far as the wear under water, mine have held up and I've had them since February. I've been using them at least monthly since. I hope that helps!
Question:	Does it really pick up as much as 8 pounds? I need something that will get jars of pickles, syrup, peanut butter, etc. from top shelves at store
Answer:	No. It will barely handle One Pound between the gripping tips. I got it to retrieve books from high shelves. It will barely handle a one pound hardback book. Squeeze until I am worried for the grabber and worried for the tendons in my wrist, and the book just wants to slide out from between the tips.Note that the tips are the part of the grabber with the least mechanical advantage. It might do better with something round that would fit within the arms of the grabber. I just checked: the inner padded surface of the arms will do a fairly good job of gripping round objects from 2 1/2 to 3 inches (60 to 75 mm) in diameter. Smaller, and the arms can't tighten enough; larger, and only the tips get much of a grip, and as above, they don't grip very hard.I might consider it for a single serving can of soup or a catsup bottle, but I wouldn't be using it for quart jars of mayonnaise.
