User questions & answers
Question: | How do I connect the pocket |
Answer: | Can anyone else answer this question? There is no snapping in place mechanism on my pocket and it is evading all logic how it’s supposed to work. The otherwise great instructions don’t give any details on the pocket attachment. |
Question: | What is the difference between the 6800BA and the BAH |
Answer: | Hello,The 6800BA is for a quantity of 3 and the 6800BAH is just for a quantity of 1.Thanks |
Question: | What is the overall HEIGHT of this bedside assist when installed |
Answer: | Depends on the height of your mattress. It comes about 15 inches over the top of our mattress. I has been a literal lifesaver for us as my husband can hold on to it to pull himself up and to get his balance before standing up. Before the Medline Assist Bar he slid out of bed many times and had a very hard time getting us without assistance. Now he can do it himself! Saves straining my arms to help him. A real lifesaver! |
Question: | One person said this would fit a queen size bed, another noted extra stapping was needed. Which is it |
Answer: | We have this on a king size bed, my husband says he didnt use any extra strapping to attach it to the bed. Hope that helps! There are times we have to push it back in because depending on how much, how often and which way you use it it can start to slide out from between the box spring and mattress. Its not a big deal though though im only 5'1" and have no problems getting it back in place by my self. |

User questions & answers
Question: | It look like the distance between the horizontal rails and the grab bar is fixed. What is the distance between the horizontal rails and the grab bar |
Answer: | The grab bar height is actually adjustable. It looks like the grab rail is ABOUT 34" - 39" from the floor. I do not have it installed, so that may be off a little. I can't install it because the legs (even though ajustable) are too tall for my older box spring & frame. Before it can work at my house it would have to fit between the box spring and mattress. My mattress is a little over 14" off the ground. The legs are about 16" tall at their lowest, so installed, the stabilizing bar lifts the mattress off the box spring top. That is a rough measurement because I can't lift the mattress by myself to get the stabilizing bar back in there. Lost my helper to the surgery for a while yet - so I can't be exact. No lifting here at all for a couple more weeks. Sorry about that. It would be a good idea for the right bed. Maybe the manufacturer can give the exact measurements. The adjustable ranges are not printed in the documentation. Unfortunately I tossed it all as well as the box so I can't help with manufacturer's name either. |
Question: | What is the weight capacity for this and will it prevent falling out of bed as well as help getting up |
Answer: | I don't know what the weight capacity is, my husband is 6'3" and weighs 215 lbs and it works for him. As far as falling out of bed, it depends on where you place it. It definitely helps getting in and out of bed. My mom is 91 and we have one for her as she falls out of bed frequently and she hasn't fallen out singe installing it on her bed. |
Question: | Is it possible to place this with the legs inside the bed frame instead of the outside? I'm concerned my dad would trip over the legs |
Answer: | The legs do not stick out but sit right up next to the bed frame if you put the device up under the mattress far enough. My mom loves hers. Helps her turn over and sit up on the edge of the bed. She uses a walker also and there is no problem with the device interfering with the walker. |
Question: | What is the lowest it can be adjusted to? How far does it insert under the mattress |
Answer: | The lowest adjustment to the handle height is sixteen inches (16") from the floor to the box mattress, the highest is 20 plus inches (20" plus). We have a low profile box mattress (13" from floor) so it didn't work. It goes under the mattress 32" to 40". I could see where this item would work very well with a higher box mattress (16" plus from the floor) and therein lies the problem for us. |

Question: | can you attach these bed rails to a normal bed |
Answer: | No they fit only on medical beds... |
Question: | Is it possible for me to return this product |
Answer: | I think this is a question for Amazon to answer, no? |
Question: | I have a 12" mattress on a hospital bad...how high will the rails be above the top of the mattress |
Answer: | Hi, we have a variable pressure air bubble pad on my wife's bed that is about 3 inches or so thick on top of the bed mattress and that makes it about ten inches on top of the frame. The side rails are at least 6 inches above the top of the bed and covers and so forth. I hope this helps. |
Question: | How does this item attach to the bed |

User questions & answers
Question: | why has the price gone up so much recently |
Answer: | Probably from getting the material |
Question: | Is there any disposable under pads larger than 36x |
Answer: | Yes there are some from medline fitright. You can search amazon for medline fitright extra large disposable underpads. You will find pads of size more than 40" even. |
Question: | if the product is 36 x 36 why is the picture not the same height as the 30 x 36? It seems they are not 36 x 36 at all |
Answer: | They are. I am so pleased with these. The very best that we have ever used for this patient. |
Question: | Is this product 'quilted' in appearance. This is the right product #, but I can't see the quilting on the photo |
Answer: | YES, THE PRODUCT IS QUILTED. |
Question: | Will this work with a regular bed mat |
Answer: | Yes, the manufacturer recommends this product to be used with a bed liner or bed mat. |
Question: | Can it be reduced in size to fit a utility trailer with a 4 x 8 bed |
Answer: | The drag sheet is completely flexible so would fit the trailer bed no problem. The issue would be how you would mount it on the rear/tailgate of your trailer. The unloader has two large U-brackets that fit on the tailgate of a pickup. They ride just about two inches inside of a full size truck tailgate and are not adjustable. If your trailer is as wide as a pickup tailgate and has clearance outside of that for the crank then it might work. |
Question: | Does it fit in a 2010 Dodge 2500 long bed |
Answer: | Not positive but would say yes. My 2005 Silverado 8' bed it fits fine with room to spare. I love mine, as well as my neighbors. |
Question: | Where to measure the tail gate. The overall size or the what |
Answer: | I have a phone to load handler‘s, one for my 2006 GMC Sonoma and one for my current 2007 Chevy Silverado. I have neither measured for the first nor the second. What I did you was research the measurement for the tailgate, and I based my purchase on whether I had a medium size or a full-size pick up. If you have a medium-size get the load handler 2000. If you have a full-size pick up, get the 3000. I hope this helps |
Question: | Will this fit in the backseat of a Chevy Silverado 1500 truck |
Answer: | Yes easily It fits in my civic hatchback |
