Answer:	It is strong.. However, the fasteners that keep the seat attached to the toilet, have to be adjusted from time to time. The entire seat is covered in plastic/vinyl. Thus, I can not tell you if it has a wood or plastic core.

Answer:	I don't quite understand the question. The seat itself, underneath the covering is probably wood, or some hard substance. Then it's "upholstered" with some soft padding and then topped with the soft vinyl type material. It's very comfortable.

Answer:	Don't create a seal at both ends. For example, if you are peeing into a water bottle there needs to be a small amount of space between you and the device. Because the device resting on a standard water bottle mouth creates a seal that will prevent the urine from funneling down quickly. Aside from being angled poorly, that's the only way I've leaked.
Question:	how thick
Answer:	I bought both and like both. The GoGirl is better at catching all the liquid, especially if you really have to go, so there might be a splash with the more rigid "trough" style. But the rigid ones are easier to position and smaller for getting into tighter clothing. This one, you need to actually have your hand between your legs to hold the cup against your body. That requires more undressing/more space in your clothing. If you are wearing loose clothes -- say a skirt or loose pants -- that's easy to do. But if you have thicker pants, jeans, or winter clothes, I think the trough-style is easier.
Question:	I don't understand what you mean by "U shaped" seats. Is this for a round toilet seat or elongated toilet seat

Question:	How thick is the foam? I need a good barrier between my butt at the toilet seat
Answer:	It is a comfortable barrier. Not terribly thick but the gel makes it feel thicker. Probably close to 3/8”. My issue is that I appear to be allergic to what it is made of. Because this is so comfortable I didn’t want to lose it. I solved the problem by adding a seat cover over both the seat and the pad. Now I can sit without pain or getting pressure sores for several hours if needed.

Answer:	Yes, but anything you install will probably not match the existing holes. Drill them yourself and use Master Plumber 224-048 MP Toilet Seat Hinge, Chrome or similar. Also add 2 additional plastic pads to the seat bottom and it will last forever. RP

Answer:	It's very comfortable. If you gotta go, this is the seat to do it on :) I would recommend it.

Answer:	T. Howard answered you that these are chrome plated plastic not solid metal. T. Howard has another model than the 13CP 000 Soft Toilet Seat, or he is mistaken. I got this model and the hinges are undoubtedly solid metal, and they are chrome. I don't think that any chrome fixture is solid chrome, but rather chrome plated over a stronger metal, this is my belief. But, whether solid chrome, or chrome plate over a different metal, the hinges are most certainly solid metal. They ring when struck, and I do not know of a plastic on earth that will do that. Additionally they are appropriately heavy and I believe they would probably bend before they would break, though some inferior metals will shatter. I'm unwilling to hit them with a sledge-hammer to see if they will shatter. The entire visible hinge assembly is chrome. But herein lies the rub. I don't know if the seat should have come with a plastic fitting assembly and it was left out of the order I got, but without it (meaning plastic washers and adjusting tubular container for the bolt to pass through as it passes through the ceramic bowl, with a gripping plastic underside washer to go with either a metal bolt or I think preferably a large plastic adjustable gripping bolt) It seems unlikely that I would be expected to get this stuff independent of the seat, but maybe. Anyway without it the bare metal on the ceramic bowl is unworkable. I went ahead and mounted the seat with only whatever came with the seat. It stays tight for about 1 day then very rapidly begins increasingly shifting around on the bowl. I'm a bit germ-phobic and for that reason am extra unwilling to reach under and behind the toilet to awkwardly tighten the bolt again and again and again every day or two but I would not be willing to do that even if in a household with 2 men it magically remained sterile, it's just absurd, its falling-off loose all the time. I can NOT figure out how to contact this company Mayfair, to get a fix for this problem. So, yes all metal chrome hinges. And no, I'm not happy about it!

Answer:	I was just looking on Google for bedside commode with padded seat ... the results of that search included a statement that people also search for replacement padded commode seat; the images offered in that search did, in fact, include a Drive Medical replacement padded commode seat that was being offered new by some vendor. So it appears that with some online searching you probably would be able to replace it.
