Question:	Can this be used to pull myself up out of the tub when taking a bath? I have trouble getting up out of the tub, so have started taking showers only
Answer:	Depending on the tub type. My tub has the claw feet and I had to use a wood block and rubber grip material (the kind used for rugs to prevent sliding) to enable my tub grip to stay in place . If you have the flat edged tub it should not slide but I would do so cautiously. I would not recommend pulling up on rail unless you know for sure it will not slide. My bathtub rail as described above become dislodged as I pulled up out of tub (fortunately I was able to right myself and I did not fall) so I limit myself in taking baths.

Question:	The side of my tube is 4.75 inches wide. Will this expand to fit that width
Answer:	My tub side is 4". Looks to me the device would expand another inch or so,
Question:	Would this work on a claw foot tub that has a rolled top rather than square
Answer:	I doubt it. The unit has a squarish U-shaped bracket, which slides over the top of the tub wall. The rolled top of the claw-foot tub would allow the bracket to fit securely to the inside of the tub, but would provide no flat surface for the outside of the clamp to secure to. As far as I can tell, since I don't currently have a claw-foot tub.

Answer:	no, it doesn't help while showering, as it IS behind the shower curtain. It is only helpful for securely getting in and out of the bath tub safely. If you need help in the shower, I would recommend grab bars attached to the wall.

Answer:	Depends on what you are installing into. Wood backing, masonary, drywall with the proper anchors. The finish rings slide on bar to expose a flange that normally will have a few mounting points. Two to three fastners per side. I prefer Toggler brand snap toggles for drywall install.
Question:	What is the diameter of the mounting feet. Also is the 32 inch length including the feet
Answer:	The diameter of the mounting feet cover is 3 inches. The overall length is 26 3/4" end of foot cover to end of foot cover.
Question:	can you mount this thru ceramic thur..drywall
Answer:	We just installed these last weekend, put 2 into tiled shower. Used drill bit that specified ok with tile and used caulk around screw plate under cover to keep waterproof. Special drill bit meant tiles didn't crack. Also used stud-finder to mount on studs for added security plus used inset anchors in tile walls to ensure no pull-out when grasped. Took somewhat longer than anticipated to install but when done, not worried about them coming loose or causing safety issues.

The clamp needs to be installed on a flat surface in which it will allow the most amount of contact surface for a secure grip. Question:	why is this not recommended for fiberglass tubs
Answer:	My opinion would be that this safety rail is really constructed of heavy duty steel pipe and it would be very easy to tighten the black knob too tight and cause the fiberglass to crack or splinter. Also, it would be very convenient for a child to try to turn the black knob causing damage to the fiberglass.

Answer:	There is very little adjustment in the clamping part of the devise. If this is like the old claw foot tub, I dough it would work. Good luck.

Answer:	I suspect it is not recommended for fiberglass tub because fiberglass tub walls tend to be not as solid as steel tub walls, thus the clamp might not be able to grab tight enough to the tub, which will increase chances of the tub rail slipping when someone puts much weight on it. There is a chance of damaging/cracking the fiberglass tub wall as well. If you use this with a fiberglass tub, keep in mind you are using it in a way that it is not designed for and the manufacture has warned against using it that way.

Answer:	Mine appears to be well covered with what appears to be enamel paint on all exposed surfaces, so unless the surface is nicked somehow, and the paint damaged, then I doubt it could rust. Plus, unless you fill the bathtub with water and never empty it, so it leaves the base of the grab bar constantly submerged, (?) should not be an issue.

Answer:	i know 250. It more has to do with the plastic chair, it isn't real sturdy, you have to have balance so that it rises straight, as only thing is the one metal bar doing the lifting. so it will sway from side to side. so try not to move as it is lifting.

Answer:	Ray, If bar is being mounted to wooden wall studs, hole in tile should be large enough for the fastener to pass through. You want the fastener to pull against the wood & not the tile, which you may break. If mounting with plastic anchors start with a 3/16” bit & perhaps enlarge with a screw driver to achieve a tight fit.
