Question: | I have very tiny feet and often have a hard time finding things in my size. I'm looking for a good brace to support my ankle while running. Does anyone know if the left/small will be small enough to comfortably support a size 5 foot and fit in a running shoe |
Answer: | Size Men's Shoe Size Women's Shoe SizeSmall Up to 7 5 to 8.5Medium 7.5 to 11.5 9-13Large 12+ 13.5+ |
Question: | I have heavy legs/ankles. Would this fit me |
Answer: | It's pretty tight putting it on especially around the foot. I don't have swollen leg or anckle. |
Question: | Does this product contain any hard plastic |
Answer: | Yes, there are plastic stays in the ankle for support. |
Question: | I have damaged my ankle due to rolling it too many times, is this ideal to use as cast to help ease pain from swelling caused by climate changes |
Answer: | My daughter also rolled her ankle too many times (had one ankle reconstructed at 19). This is the device the doctor prescribed both before and after surgery. I don't know if it will help with climate change, necessarily, but it helped her walk without too much pain prior to the surgery and kept her protected once she could take off the big ankle boot from surgery. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this work well for peroneal tendon tear |
Answer: | i'm wearing it post-surgery on a peroneal tendon tear as prescribed by my surgeon |
Question: | I am a woman size 7, should i order a xs, or a small |
Answer: | I wear a size 8 and got a small. fits perfect. and it's exactly like the one my orthopeadic doc gave me. I think it really depends on your ankle. I would have never thought my ankle was "small" but it's perfect for me. you might actually be good if you get an XS. |
Question: | Can you return item if sizing it s wrong |
Answer: | No |
Question: | Is the heel covered |
Answer: | No the heel is not covered. In the back two peices come together like panels, the foot slips through the hole so that it covers the entite front of the ankle. I think this is to get it on and off eaiser. But in the back its open with s tiny strap to keep the two sides together. The strap causes issues with it fitting in a shoe its low enough to where it hits the heel in the shoe, making it very difficult and in my take a trip hazard as the only way to wear it is to loosen your laces to wear the shoe slides on and off. In the picture given it looks like the heel is covered because there is a wrap around strap to hold the two sides together further up as the sides go up your calfs pretty high. But thr straps do not cover the heel in the back. So the picture is false advertising, or they should include pictured. I love aircast boots, but they really made this horribly. It hurts my ankle, heel and calfs to wear. It is un-useable. I have pictures if you need them. Hope this helps. Ty |

Product description
The Aircast AirHeel Ankle Support Brace treats plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, and heel pain by applying pulsating compression with every step, which helps reduce swelling and enhance circulation. The medial/lateral stabilizers offer enhanced proprioception and stability. It's designed with 2 interconnected air cells, located under the foot arch and in back of the Achilles tendon. When you take a step, the first air chamber (under the arch) begins to collapse, thus reducing the stress to the plantar fascia under the arch. Air is then forced into the chamber surrounding the Achilles tendon, which in turn inflates. The inflated Achilles chamber applies compression to the Achilles tendon to shorten the lever arm, therefore reducing strain on the tendon. It's made of a latex-free, compression spandex with air cells incased in waterproof nylon. These air cells have been tested with 1,000 lbs. of pressure, which enables them to withstand the force from running, jumping and landing, and other high impact activities. The Aircast AirHeel Support Brace is already inflated, so no pump is needed. It's constructed of lightweight, breathable materials so it's extremely comfortable to wear. Simply slip the support brace on like a sock, and adjust the Velcro strap for a custom fit. Universal fit allows the Aircast AirHeel Ankle Support Brace to be worn on either the left or right foot.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the air cast contain latex |
Answer: | THis is the most uncomfortable brace I’ve ever bought...I don’t know about latex but you couldn’t wear this without a sock and even then it hurt...I didn’t even last an hour wearing it! Be wise don’t buy! |
Question: | I have a size 14. E with foot. Will this be large enough |
Answer: | I would not recommend using this one. It put way too much pressure on the ankle and the area under your heel just didn’t fit correctly. I wear a size 10 1/2. So to answer your question, I would say no. |
Question: | do these fit comfortably inside your shoes |
Answer: | Sanford and athletic shoes yes, boots: I would doubt it. I lived in one of these for almost three years after severely breaking my ankle before. |
Question: | Is this model L |
Answer: | No |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this fit with your normal size shoes? My daughter has another black air cast and her foot will not fit in her shoe with it on |
Answer: | I suffered a severe ankle injury about two months ago. My doctor advised me to wear these with my regular shoes. I could not get these to fit on any of my shoes so I bought two pairs of the same sneakers in different widths plus orthopedic insoles good for plantar fasciitis and now I can use them to walk around slowly. Since I already have wide (D size) feet the second pair was a EE or XX wide width. |
Question: | What is it made of |
Answer: | The outer shell is a sturdy plastic. The inside is a softer, air-and foam-filled lining that confirms to your ankle. |
Question: | Is this the type that you can add air to by opening a little area that is like a "straw |
Answer: | No - it is a soft cast filled with air already. Can't add anything to this one. |
Question: | Hello. I have a question about the product. Is it for use when I play sports? Or it is used for the recovery of an injury while not playing sports |
Answer: | I used it after recovery when my ankle still felt weak. I don't know if it is made for sports, but very easy to wear walking. I would give it a try if your ankle needs support. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What type of plastic is this made out of |
Answer: | I really don't know. I just know that it worked for me. |
Question: | Does the longer brace come with a sock |
Answer: | Hello RAYMOND J. SCHMOTZER We have addressed your question with our Product support department, they have informed us that A sock is included with each brace. We hope that this Answers your question, have a blessed day |
Question: | How is the right size determined? Is it from the bottom of the heal/foot to the lower end of the patella or anterior top of the foot to the patella |
Answer: | You have two types of braces, ankle and a leg brace. The ankle brace is for minor sprains, weak ankles, and the 18" leg brace is for high sprains, stress fractures and for minor ankle fractures. The small leg brace is narrower in width for a very petite person. The "one size fits most" can be adjusted for width. I strongly suggest getting the anterior panel and using it until over the acute phase, as it does provide more support and is more comfortable. Make sure you get 2-packs of sock liners, so you can go three days without washing them. You should not put the Aircast directly against your skin. Over the calf boot socks will work but do not have as much fluff, therefore will not be as comfortable. I have used the Aircast brand for years and when I recently broke my ankle and ordered one as soon as I got home from the ER. I then went to a podiatrist for follow-up care. Videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-CUTEBvzdc Sprains can be severe and should be evaluated by a provider. The above is not meant to be medical advice. |
Question: | Has anyone tried to run with this product |
Answer: | I never tried to run but I personally wouldn't recommend it. I had a hard time getting it to fit correctly while just walking so running was totally out of the question for me. :/ |
