Answer:	Absolutely. I have a bad left knee and have been using this brace for swimming since 1996 when I hyperextended it getting on a rocking boat. My family doctor sent me to an orthopedic surgeon who said I would have to have the knee replaced in 6 months. I have seen so many knee replacements go bad at 69 years old I am not willing to take the chance. I replace mine every year because the wear and tear of taking them off they just get shabby looking. These are for not for 'frog' kicking, that is too much stress on the joint. I have a friend who is a proffesional swim coach an I am still swimming three days a week.

Answer:	You can wear the knee strap either up or down, as it seems the straps are equal length. The Velcro straps on both ends pass through a slot in the body of the strap. One Velcro strap tightens to right side, the other to left side. Hop this helps.

Step 1

Open all hook fasteners and slide foot into the stabilizer. Loop the top strap through the buckle, pull and secure it. Fit should feel firm, yet comfortable.

Step 2

Pull the left foot strap up and over top of the foot, attaching the hook fastener to the opposite side of the ankle stabilizer.

Step 3

Follow the same directions for the right foot strap. Adjust both straps until fit around bottom of foot feels firm, yet comfortable.

Our braces and supports are designed to be worn during the day only. They should not be worn overnight, therefore should be removed prior to going to bed.

The exceptions to this are the ACE Brand Night Wrist Sleep Support and the ACE Plantar Fasciitis Sleep Support. Both are designed specifically for night use, to help provide a restful night's sleep for people experiencing wrist or foot pain. But as always, please consult with your physician for recommendations.

The ACE Brand Plantar Fasciitis Sleep Support is not recommended for individuals with diabetes, neuropathy or vascular disease, and is not intended for load bearing.

How long at a time should I wear my support?

The length of time is really personal preference. A general recommendation would be that you wear a brace or support during activity and for an hour or two afterwards. If you feel better wearing it longer, that is fine as well.
