Answer:	I wear mine under my pants when I wear long pants. But I have to be especially watchful when I walk in narrow places because the brace makes my leg an inch wider on the outer side and if I bump something it marks my pants leg. Since I'm retired and live in Florida, I wear shorts at least half the time and then it must be on the skin.Since it is made of Neoprene which does not breathe (that's why it's used in wet suits) I remove the metal braces and run the cloth part through a gentle wash cycle with towels to cushion it. I do all my laundry with All Clear which contains on allergens which might irritate my skin if they remain in the fabric.I have worn the brace outside my pants but it tends to wrinkle the pants badly -- especially if baggy like dress pants. Answer:	I don't know the answer to that or how far your knee dislocates. All I can tell you is that as I am moving, at times my knee just goes out on me. I used the heavy metal braces, the patella brace,tons of therapy ...I have at least 5 durable medical braces that slide down ,yet were fitted to me. Even with the total knee, I still have my Parells. This is the only one that is comfortable, lightweight and holds my knee in position without slipping or falling down, pulling on my tendons. It may or may not work for some. For me ,It works great, and I have had 25 years of surgeries and various braces.
