They are 70% beads that will shrink down as water is released. 50/50 isn't needed and the cost will eat you up over time. Replace the beads yearly. The Prestige Import Group Crystal Gel Humidification Beads 8oz sold on Amazon are a great replacement bead for a cheap price.

Answer:	I'm not sure but I've never found them to be very dependable to begin with. What I found to be the most dependable is to purchase humidity beads/crystals using humidity solution to manage the humidity in my humidor. Xikar is what I use.

Answer:	Very nice seal on this humidor, it will hold humidity wherever you set it at depending on what you're using for humidification. All wooden humidors will lose about 2% of what you're actually aiming for. I have 72% boveda packs in mine and it holds at a perfect 70%
