| Answer: | I tried rubbing some on the bottom of a stainless steel pot that had some burned on residue...it took some rubbing, but burnt on stuff that my regular dish detergent didn't take off came off with the Ceramabyte. However, Ceramabyte makes a product specifically for stainless steel. It got high reviews, but one person said it streaked and left smudges. With this product, you HAVE to use a clean dry cloth (or paper toweling) and completely rub the product off after you've finished removing the dirt and grease. And, it's important not to use too much...I just use a few drops on my cooktop...otherwise it does take much longer to get all the residue off and leave it spotless. The stainless steel cleaner can also be purchased with a special scrub pad. I'm going to buy a bottle myself for my oven door and refrigerator! |

| Answer: | If your cooktop is like mine, you probably shouldn't cook directly on the surface as ingredients from the food will bake on. With that said, try Weiman's Cook Top Max Cleaner or get some Weiman's Cook Top Scrubbing Pads to use with the Weiman Glass Cook Top Heavy Duty Cream. With the Max Cleaner, wet the applicator well and scrub the stove top thoroughly, remove cleaner with the sponge side, and wipe with a clean soft cloth or paper towel. I have had marks that have taken a couple of applications to get off. Glass cook top is about the hardest thing in my kitchen to keep clean. Another thing I do is clean the top immediately after a cooked meal and just before using it again to make sure I don't bake spatters onto it. I use the Weiman Cooktop Daily Cleaner for small clean-ups. Before I read my manual, I baked a spot onto my glass cooktop that I have never been able to get off. Love Weiman's, which is sometimes hard to find in stores--so I love ordering it on-line, too. |

My daughter uses a generic brand, but I don’t think it cleans as well and it definitely has a strong, unpleasant odor. When you are cleaning, it may help to turn on the exhaust fan. My advice is to stick with Wieman! |
