Dimensions: 13.8 lbs Check for suction at the back of the unit after removing the hose where it attaches to the back of the unit. If there IS suction at the back of the machine with the hose removed, follow these steps: Unplug the unit from the outlet. Check the Pre- and Post-Motor filters for debris. Dirty filters can restrict airflow. The Pre-Motor Foam Filter is square. You can find it in a pull-out tray under the Dirt Tank. The Foam Filter may be hand washed in cold water with mild detergent. Reinstall the filter when it’s completely dry. The Multi-Layer Post-Motor Filter is rectangular. It can be found on the side of the machine. Note: The white Multi-Layer Post Motor Filter isn’t washable. Make sure the dirt tank is empty. Check the upper tank for build-up or clogs. If it needs to be cleaned, use a short, Phillips-head screwdriver and take off the separator plate with a cloth (can be dampened with water or mild detergent). Replace dirt tank. Check for good suction at the end of the upholstery hose. If there’s good suction, make sure the hose is connected firmly to the lower hose on the back of the vacuum. If there’s no suction, check the hose for splits, cracks, or clogs. Make sure the Brush Roll is rotating. If it isn’t, take the access plate off and examine the brush and belt for damage. The access panel can be taken off by lifting the four tabs on the bottom of your machine. Clearing clogs detach the Upper Hose from the machine. Insert a broomstick into the hose to push any obstruction through. Remove the screw from the left side of the lower hose on the back of the unit. Straighten this section of hose by pulling it down or laying the unit on its side with the lower hose towards the top side. Look through the hose for any obstruction. Use a broomstick to unclog the hose. Power source - corded. Power rating: 3 amps.

Answer:	The brush head detaches from the hose. I clean it by running extremely hot water through it. You could even soak it in a warm water bath if needed. If there is a hair stuck inside the plastic portion, you can use an unbent page clip to dig it out.

Answer:	I have a spot-bot as well as a Bissell upright (about to buy this little green one) - and I use a zip tie - the kind you can use for bundling wires - very long and flexible - as long as the fuzz inside the suction head is still wet, a zip tie works really well for me!!

Answer:	Sorry to tell you this - I've had my first machine for yr and it worked fine until it would no longer spray- since it was old I thought some part must have worn out - and since it had given me many yrs of great service - I just went out and bought another one - I have had this new one for just about a yr and now the same problem is happening to this one - I've given up and use a spray bottle to apply solution and the machine to pick up the residue - I'll have to be in touch with the company - but this does seem like it could be a chronic problem.

Answer:	It really wouldn't. For anyone reading this, it just doesn't have the proper brush to agitate carpet in such a way as to release ground in dirty or staining. A scrubbing brush, not a rotating vacuum brush is needed for deep cleaning.

Question:	Is the carpet supposed to be completely clean when the water is completely clear
Answer:	If you are sucking up clear water, yes the area you are cleaning should be clean. However I let mine dry, pretreated it again and went back over it to make sure and the penetrate deeper. It seemed to work. My carpet had an older set in pet stain that I didn't find right away.

Answer:	You need an enzyme cleaner to completely break down pet urine. Especially for cats. If you don’t remove all of the urine, it will eventually start to smell again and could cause the pet to pee there in the future.
Question:	what is the total weight and motor capacity
Answer:	The thing weighs about 12 pounds. I don't know what you mean by motor capacity, but if you go over the same area too many times it'll pull the carpet fibers up. My office was a mess. I had Stanley steamer come in a year or so ago and they did an okay job. This thing was 99 bucks and in 20 minutes did a fantastic job. I have white carpets that were gray and now their white again.

Answer:	You could, but it would be quite a chore. This is a spot cleaner not intended for cleaning the carpet in an entire room. For that large of an area you would want an upright rug cleaner. Even a light duty upright would be better for such an area than this Hoover Spotless.

Answer:	Overall like the spot bot better, have both, use bot more often, just easier.
Question:	How does this do on pet stains
Answer:	It works great. I fill a sprayer with boiling hot water, use a carpet detergent to loosen the stain, and the spot scrubber to lift it from the item so stained. The sprayer is used just ahead of the spot scrubber vacuum tool and all of the gunk goes into the easily dumpable tank. I put distilled water in the wash tank and finish with that so no dissolved mineral residue remains (which sometimes makes a ring when the cleaned item drys). Works great and easy to clean (use a little of the boiling water followed with a distilled water flush).

Question:	will this work in an older Power Steamer? [model 1631]
Answer:	I am not familiar with model 1631. Bissell 2x pro deep clean works well on carpets. I suggest you visit Bissel website to determine if the product will work with your 1631 power steamer.
Question:	Since it has scotch Guard, does it mean that I'm not supposed to re-run the machine with just water to suck out all the cleaner
Answer:	Great question, you can still perform a water rinse after cleaning to remove any access formula/dirty water from your carpets but this will breakdown the Scotchgard protection quicker.
Question:	how large of an area will this item clean
Answer:	I think it depends on which machine you have; mine requires 5 oz. of cleaner per full tank. It also depends on how much you use over each pass; I've used about 20 oz and cleaned about 800-900 sq ft. Some areas I've even gone back over.
Question:	how big of an area in sqft with The 48oz 2x solution cover for mildly soiled low profile carpet
Answer:	Mine: 580 square feet moderately soiled with some stains to get out: 1.5 tanks with 1.5 caps. This is very concentrated and very effective. Cream low pile cheap apartment carpet, 10 yrs old; prior professional shampoo every six months (dog and cat). Now I only use my old Bissell and this great stuff. If you had a Spot Bot it would be even less to fully clean.

Answer:	It has HeatWave Technology - you start with warm water in the clean tank and it maintains the water temperature while you're cleaning.
Question:	Are the uphostery attachments all bristle? Or are they like the rental ones with the smooth surface
Answer:	Both attachments included have bristles. The red you see in the picture of the heads are the bristles.
Question:	Would this remove soil? My dog destroyed my plants and brought them inside so it was all over my carpet. I managed to vacuum
Answer:	You would need to vacuum the soil first to get up all the debris. Then, when use this cleaner, it will get up all the spots. I have 4 dogs, and every spot they’ve left behind, this cleaner has cleaned them all up.
Question:	What is the difference between this model and the pro version? thanks
Answer:	The pro has a 3’ longer cord, a pretreated, and some sort of brush roll cover. This one is excellent.

Answer:	No I put some in a water squirt bottle and pre treat the bad areas they come out fantastic its great
Question:	Can you mix two different formulas
Answer:	I did not mix the formulas. I used one then went back with the second. With all the chemicals you can never be sure how they will react with each other and could cause harm to you or your carpet or pets
Question:	How well does it work on Odors? And what does it smell like
Answer:	I cannot explain the smell other than, clean! It works wonders on odors. I have a male dog that was pretty sure my couch was his personal potty. I used this in my bissell on my couch and the carpet. Not only did it take the urine and the odor out, but he has not been back to pee on it! Yay!
Question:	It says for upright machines. is it safe for the bissell 3624 spotclean professional portable carpet cleaner
Answer:	I also wanted to add that Bissell says this is fine in the portable machines but should not be used in proportions based on the marks on your tanks. I did a little math and figured the ratio to be more like 1/2 oz for the small marks (based on 16 oz of water for the small mark) and 1 oz of fluid for the large area mark (this is based on that being 32 oz of water). I have the 2694 Bissell. I believe most, if not all of the Bissell portables use this configuration. The uprights have a higher concentration in the solution...equating to 2.5 oz to each gallon or 5 oz per gallon for extra strength. My ratios will give you somewhere in between regular and extra strength.

Question:	Can I purchase any carpet shampoo to use within hoover, for example an oxy shampoo for carpet and vehicle seating and floor
Answer:	I have purchased other shampoo as well.
Question:	Can I use this machine and just rinse my carpet to get all the soap out
Answer:	If you take the cartridge in the back that holds the cleaner out, you should be able to just rinse and remove the residual soap!
Question:	How does this machine do with hair? No matter how much i vaccum, there is hair. Does it get stuck in the brushes too badly
Answer:	I have a cat so hair is a major problem for me. The Smartwash does pick up the hair and it can get stuck in the nozzle going to the dirty water tank. The brushes will stop. But it is fairly easy to clean both the nozzle and brushes. It is easy to disconnect the pieces to clean. This machine does a good job of cleaning. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. I do recommend that you follow the rinse instructions after using the cleaner. It rinses the carpet to remove the cleaning solution from the rug. All you do is remove the bottle with the cleaner solution and go over the carpet again with just clean water.
Question:	Does it heat the water
Answer:	no, we recommend using warm tap water to fill the Clean Water Tank.

Answer:	It does come with a small bottle of cleaning solution
Question:	Is there a way to clean the brush head from gunk stuck in it
Answer:	Yes, try suctioning up a small amount of water from a bowl to clean the brush head and hose of any debris or dirt. Hope this helps!
Question:	The water containers seem hard to empty out fully - not well designed. Is anyone having problems with that
Answer:	Yes! I was absolutely having issues emptying the dirty water tank. You can remove the plastic tank from the machine. There was a video that showed how to remove a section of that tank in order to open it up fully. I can't post the link here, but I hope this description helps. Take the dirty water tank off the machine. Then take the purple handle and move it up and over the tank. It will stick at the top and will look like it cannot go further, however, keep pressing gently but firmly and the handle will "give" slightly to allow it to go well over the top fo the tank, in almost a 180 degree change from where it was before. Now you can scoop your fingers under the top section and lift it off. You can see where the plastic looks like it will separate. Once separated, you can set the tank in the sink and clean both sides freely. I was afraid to push it over the top since it naturally stops there, but it does go over.
Question:	Many people say there is a defect were the hose meets the handle And it breaks does anyone know if bissel corrected this problem? Or do they give you
Answer:	I'm in the process of replacing mine because of the described problem. The hose do get brittle after so many usage, the the part of the hose connecting to the suction handle breaks. Problem is this model does not have a hose replacement. Also, I check around how to replace the hose and it looks like, it will take some breaking the machine apart to get to end of the hose connecting to the machine. BUMMER!!!
