I have long fingers with a broad palm stretch, but I would say my hands are relatively thin, and the large size works well for me with extra stretch still available. The gloves do stretch nicely, but the bulk of an extra large hand might result in additional stress to the glove, which could potentially contribute to more frequent failure if it over-stresses.
