Answer:	It works just as described-I love mine. Use to foot pedal to wring the mop as damp or dry as you want. Pull the mop head off and put in washer (I use bleach) and it comes out like new. I've had mine for at least 6 months, my mom (80 plus years old) got one as well and she loves hers--no more stooping over the mop bucket wringing out dirty water.

Answer:	I have 6 dogs including 4 mastiffs which are all over 209 lb and all live indoors! This mop is awesome! They trudge mud and dirt all over and I mop constantly and hard. It has held up great. I mop every day, several times a day and additional times for spills, puke and accidents. I also use it on my walls for mud smears from the dogs and mastiff slobber. I do have to replace the bucket part after a year as the ringer pedal has gotten wore out and is not working well anymore but for 30 bucks...no problem!

Answer:	Just like any damp or wet material or mop, it will only pick up things like hairs (and particles) when it's moved across the floor/counter/etc in one direction, then *stopped* and picked up. At that point the damp thing could be rinsed off and the hair would come with it (or picked off from things like sponge mops). If instead the damp item is just rubbed back and forth along the surface, some hair/particles will cling but some will be redeposited on the floor. Question:	Two questions. 1. Does the cleaning solution have an odor (I have allergies)? 2. Can this be used to freshen an oriental area rug
Answer:	If you have allergies and an Oriental rug, I would get rid of the rug!! If it is an authentic hand knotted rug- then it's wool!! If you have allergies you MAY be allergic to the wool itself. ALso, I would have it professinally cleaned- not because YOU can;'t clean it, but wool rugs are incredibly heavy when wet and terribly difficult to properly dry completely. Unless you have a big backyard and live in the arid southwest, I would not attempt cleaning. I have a large wool rug from Afghanistan I tried cleaning myself (you have to use natural SOAPS AND NO ARTIFICIAL DETERGENTS!!) on wool- it weighed a ton when wet and took FOREVER to dry on a very hot wall in 114F degree summer heat. The wool just smells when it's wet, like a wet dog (wet sheep actually ;) so, next time it will be done by a pro who has the equipment, tools and dryer for them.

Answer:	I just read that the difference between the two: the 1785W is 3000 RPM's and the 1785A is 3500 RPM's.

Answer:	I have a 20 yr old carpet cleaning Bissel and I use my own solution. Of course the manufacturer will only endorse their own cleaning products. They can't guarantee the results if you use something else. I use 3% hydrogen peroxide with hot water. Use a 1 to 5.5 ratio. (1 peroxide to 5.5 parts water) It cleans, disinfects, and is great for pet stains. Won't hurt your machine using this formula. Hint: Try a 1 to 1 ratio in a spray bottle for cleaning your shower, bathtub and tiles. It kills mildew on contact, nixes the scum on glass and brightens your tub.
Question:	Can this be used for dry vacuuming? And how does this clean grout between tile lines
Answer:	I have tried this for dry vac and tile grout. First off, it is really meant to suck up water. Yes, it will do large items on the floor but not fine dust and dirt from every day. It will suck it up with the water though. As for grout, if you have deep crevice grout, as in the grout is not flush with the top of the tile, you will still need to scrub the grout. I have both and then I also have uneven stone that has pores and crevices in the tile itself and it also doesn't do well on those but it does better than a regular mop EVER did.

Question:	Will the Shark Steam pocket mop clean grout from wear and tear on my ceramic tile floors
Answer:	I don't see that Bissell has a model #1906 but there is a 1806 so I will assume you are referring to it. I had the original blue 1940 model for 3.5 years before it stopped working due to a bad thermal fuse. Since it was no longer covered by the 2 year manufacturer's warranty through Bissell, my husband was able to fix it by replacing the fuse but in the meantime, while he was ordering the correct fuse, I replaced it with the Bissell purple pet #19404, only because it was $10 cheaper than the blue #1940 at the time. The purple #19404 is the EXACT same mop as the blue #1940 but the blue #1940 comes with one scent of fragrance discs (Spring Breeze) and the purple #19404 comes with "Odor Eliminating" discs for people with pets. Here are some of the differences I see between the 1806 and the 1940 (and the purple pet #19404): Power cord length: 1940 (and purple pet 19404) = 23 feet. The cord on the1806 =25 feet Water tank: 1940 (and purple pet 19404) = holds 15 oz. and is removable to fill (and empty) at the sink. 1806 holds 19 oz. and is built into the mop. Must be filled using the provided water cup and I guess you have to turn the mop upside down over the sink if you need to empty the water tank. The 1940 (and purple pet 19404) has 3 steam levels (High, Medium and Low) whereas the 1806 only has 2. Fragrance discs: 1940 (and purple pet 19404) = discs fit into a mesh pocket on the inside of the mop pad. 1806 = discs can either go into the mesh pocket on the inside of the mop pad or into a tray located on the top of the mop foot. Probably the biggest difference is the "spot boost brush" on the 1806. The 1940 (and purple pet 19404) = have a flip down brush on the back of the mop. 1806 = has a removable "wand" with the brush on the end. (You can search the Bissell 1806 on YouTube and see it demonstrated in one of Bissell's videos. Bissell may also have a demo video on their official website if you look on the product page for the 1806.) I rarely ever use the flip-down scrub brush on my 1940 (or 19404) models since I don't usually have anything on my floors that needs scrubbing (no kids or grandkids in the house leaving sticky messes) so I don't find the removable wand with the spot boost brush appealing or necessary for my needs. I'd rather have the removable water tank the 1940 (and purple pet 19404) offers for the benefit of easy filling and emptying. Answer:	I like to have the bonus of a cleaner as well. The easy work-around is to lightly spray the area to be cleaned with a diluted spray cleaner formula of your choice. Then the steam action helps the cleaner to work. Only use a touch of cleaner as the heat will mean more fumes in the area and that would be dangerous in excess. Understand too that cleaners are far too concentrated to begin with. I always cut mine with water and get 2 bottles for the price of one.
Question:	i have arthritis in my fingers....is the "trigger" hard to pull? Do you have to hold the trigger? Is this hard for someone 80 years old to use
Answer:	A "weak spot" for many laminates that involve click-lock or tongue-and-groove wooden boards is the seams where these boards meet. Unless you have something like a Pergo floor in which you glued the seams after laying each row, the steam may penetrate and cause swelling of the wood below the "fake wood" surface. Flooring installers call this type of swelling/warpage "cupping" and a user introducing this kind of moisture would void the warranties I've read. (Disclaimer: DIY person who has installed several brands of flooring.)
Question:	Can the steam mop clean ground in dirt out of the tile grout
Answer:	If you mean after multiple cycles in the washing machine, the pads don't look brand new anymore. I do bleach them in the wash, but to the mops credit, it picks up so much filth they can look a little grey. But they ARE clean. If you're asking how long they last during a cleaning... I mop a large area like the kitchen, then I pick it up and peek under the mop to see how much I've picked up. If it's COVERED in dirt I change it, if I can still see the white of the pad I keep going. Hope that helped!

Answer:	Please, PLEASE DON'T USE MURPHY'S OIL SOAP on any wood floor. I own a flooring store so I have experience with ton's of different types of wood flooring. It will damage the finish on the wood after using over time. It will start lifting the finish off the floor. It will also start leaving a residue after a few times. If it is furniture - use Murphy's oil soap, but not on wood floors! Use only what the wood floor manufacturer recommends. If it's raw wood floors and finished in the home you can use a very small amount (2 Tablespoons) to a gallon of water. Use the smallest amount of water possible and make sure it is dry in a few minutes. Dry it off with a dry mop head if needed. Do not let the water sit there.

Answer:	I’ve been using white vinegar mixed with water- read somewhere this was a good solution- it’s been working well for me. With 3 grandchildren; 1, 3, 5 and the 1yo crawling, i mop Evert night with The vingers solutiion and Sunday’s I use a regular Tile cleaner. Vinegar solution is 1tbsp per canister of water. Others have used 1tsp per canister. You can play around with your own mixture; whatever works for you.

Answer:	I think that the sponge part is more sturdy than the typical "bright yellow" sponges that come with alot of the spongs mops. I have used mine to clean granite tile shower floor and although I have only had the mop a few weeks the sponge is holding up just fine. Being that said, even though it is more dense and firm than typical drug store sponge mops, it is a sponge and it is porous so eventually it may wear out.

If your standard kitchen and bathroom cleanings require a total of 4 pads that's nearly 2 dollars per cleaning! If you clean your floors only once a week that still adds up to nearly 100 dollars a year in pads alone! I don't know about you but I wouldn't mind an extra 100 bucks a year!
