Question:	Do you remove the back ,before you clip it to the dashboard
Answer:	Once you remove the vent clip from its cardboard packaging, you just need to bend the clip on the back upward 45-degrees until you hear it "click" into place. Not 100% sure, but I think doing this breaks an internal seal that activates the freshener. If you look at the 3rd picture on the product page (the one that says "snap"), you can kinda see what you're supposed to do.

Answer:	They are made for car vents. The air from the vents distributes the fragrance. So no. I was wondering the same thing :)
