9 best breathing strip for snoring

Breathing strips, also known as nasal strips or nasal dilators, are adhesive strips applied to the outside of the nose. They are commonly used as a non-invasive remedy for snoring and are available over-the-counter. These strips work by physically pulling open the nostrils, which can help improve airflow through the nasal passages. They are often used by people who suffer from snoring due to nasal congestion or narrowing of the nasal passages during sleep.

Here's how breathing strips for snoring work and their relation to sleep, snoring, and health care:

  1. Improved Nasal Breathing: Breathing strips are designed to gently lift the sides of the nose, making the nasal passages wider. This increased nasal airflow can be particularly helpful for individuals who snore due to nasal congestion, allergies, or other nasal issues.

  2. Reduced Snoring: Snoring often occurs when there is an obstruction in the airflow through the mouth and nose during sleep. By improving nasal breathing, breathing strips can help reduce the vibrations of soft tissues in the throat, which are responsible for the snoring sound.

  3. Enhanced Sleep Quality: Snoring can disrupt the quality of sleep for both the snorer and their partner. By reducing or eliminating snoring, breathing strips can contribute to better sleep quality, leading to more restful nights.

  4. Non-Invasive Solution: Breathing strips provide a non-invasive solution for individuals who want to address snoring without resorting to surgery or other more invasive treatments. They are easy to use and typically do not cause discomfort when applied correctly.

  5. Health Care Considerations: While breathing strips can be helpful, they might not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with certain nasal conditions or sleep disorders might require personalized medical advice. Consulting a healthcare professional is essential to determine the underlying cause of snoring and explore appropriate treatments, which may include breathing strips or other interventions.

It's important to note that while breathing strips can be effective for some people, they might not work for everyone.Snoring can have various causes, and the effectiveness of breathing strips can depend on the specific cause of an individual's snoring. Therefore, consulting a healthcare provider is crucial to identify the underlying issue and find the most suitable solution for snoring and related sleep problems.

Product features

Your breathing should empower you, not hold you back

Intake was inspired by the Olympic athletes of the 90s, and the hardcore athletes of today, who wear nasal strips to help boost their performance during competition. But traditional nasal strips aren't built for high impact--and are barely effective enough to make it through a single night of sleep. So we decided to change the game.

We challenged everything we knew about nasal strips, and we designed a simple, effective product that's built to withstand every milestone you tackle. Intake rewrites the rules of nose breathing, allowing you experience your breathing in a way you’ve never felt before.

Nasal strips haven't advanced in nearly 30 years—until now.

More Durable. Intake beats the leading competition in facial adhesion, so you can run, sweat, swim, cycle, and sleep without worrying about the band peeling off.

More Effective. Intake's two-part design holds your nasal passages open to their widest capacity and keeps them open, so you can breathe deeply without your nostrils collapsing or the band moving.

More Adaptive. Intake is for all noses. The band comes in three size ranges, so you can find the best fit and placement for your face and your activity. Life isn't one-size-fits-all.

The best of the old and the new

Inner nasal dilators can open your nose wider than traditional nasal strips, but because they open your nose from the inside, they can simultaneously impede the space through which air flows.

Intake is comfortable and non-invasive, and opens your airways gently, allowing you the greatest airflow possible.

Product features and technology

Every detail matters.

Intake's two-part system was designed to be versatile and durable enough for any lifestyle. The Intake Breathing tabs are made out of latex-free 3M medical adhesive tape, making them safer for even sensitive skins. The weave and material makes them sweat and moisture resistant, so they'll stick with you no matter where you go. The Intake Band is made out of Nylon-12, which is anti corrosive and impact resistant. The color and matte finish were inspired by the anti-glare eye black that football players wear, and the ergonomic shape was designed to stay out of your visual plane.

For when you're active, and for when you're not

Your active life is a big part of your stamp on this world. Whether you play outdoors, on the court, in the gym, or on the pavement, we’ve got you covered with unbelievable, enhanced breathing - wherever your passion and adventure may take you.

Nighttime

The hours you spend recharging are just as important as the ones you spend up and running—if not more. While we designed Intake for high impact activity, many of our users wear Intake for sleep, and have reported feeling more rested and energized upon waking. Deepen your sleep, cut down on snoring, and utilize your breathing like never before.

Easy Application

Pick up a breathing tab using the magnetic applicator

Slip-free Adhesive

After peeling off the backing, apply the tab to the upper ridge of your nostril

Long Weartime

Once you’ve found the proper placement, press the tab into the skin and allow to sit for 3 to 5 minutes

Wide Open Airways

Allow the magnets in the band to “click” into place, allowing you to breathe like never before

Breathe Right Nasal Strips to Stop Snoring, Drug-Free, Calming Lavender, 26 Count (Pack of 1)

Breathe Right

Based on 6 reviews Check latest price

Product description

They seem simple, but Breathe Right nasal strips have unique engineering that make them a sleeping aid as well as an effective tool for managing nighttime congestion and improving sleep. The nasal strips are made of flexible, spring-like bands that fit right above the flare of the nostrils. The underside is 3M adhesive so that once positioned on the nose, they stay there. As the bands attempt to straighten back to their original shape, they lift the sides of the nose and open the nasal passages. This lifting action helps open inflamed sinus passages and makes it easier to breathe. The nasal strips provide instant relief for congestion due to colds, allergies, or a deviated septum and reduce snoring caused by nighttime nasal congestion. How to use Breathe Right Nose Strips? Clean Your Face: Since adhesive doesn’t stick well to oily, wet or moisturized skin, it’s important to wash and thoroughly dry your nose before applying a nasal strip. Position Nasal Strip: Remove the protective liner to expose the adhesive, then position the nasal strip on your nose. Position is critical — the strip should be centered along the width of your nose with the tabs on the flaring part of the nostril. The tabs shouldn’t cover the flaring part of the nostril entirely, but rather should sit just above. Apply to Nose: Gently rub the strip to secure it onto your nose. Nasal strips come in different sizes to fit different nose types, so you should determine which size is best for you. Also, it’s important to always refer to the packaging leaflet before use. User questions & answers

Question: I have a severely deviated septum. Can I wear this while running or working out to better breathe through my nose
Answer: I wear one sometimes when I'm taking a nap if I'm having an unusually rough day with pollen and nasal blockage or whatever and after my nap I may go down and do some gardening or something active and I find that it's helpful. I would imagine that running or working out would be more effective if you are able to breathe better and deeply, especially that when I've watched a football game on TV I occasionally see a player wearing one and look at how active they are on the field. I like the lavender ones too. I usually wear one every night when I go to bed and I enjoy the scent. Hope all this helps. Have a great Christmas, John
Question: What size are these
Answer: On the box it says " sized to fit all" I wear them on the lower one third of my nose and I am extremely happy with the result. I do think that the lavender scent aids in falling asleep. I highly recommend the product especially if you have a problem with stuffy nose.
Question: Is it easy to take off? Will it hurt to take them off
Answer: The glue works well over night and through the day, for example, if you had a cold and wanted to keep the strip on. To take it off, best if you either wash your face with warm water, especially the strip, or, better, if you shower, get that strip nice and wet and it will dissolve the glue and it will fall off. If you don't wet your face, it will be like tearing off a sticky piece of tape. In that case, pull it off SLOWLY and it won't hurt. Then wash the residue off with warm water.
Question: Will these help with sleep apnea
Answer: I would say no. Sleep Apnea causes your breathing to start and stop. These strips are Wonderful at pulling your nasal cavities open so you can breath better when you have colds or allergies. You could use them WITH what you are using for your sleep apnea, but not in place of or as a replacement for your CPAP machine.

User questions & answers

Question: What size are these
Answer: The size is perfect to cover an adult nose. For kids, it may be just a touch long.
Question: Will these help for opening nasal passages during a marathon race
Answer: I can't confirm for a marathon but I use them during motorcycle racing. During the summer, it gets very hot on the track and these strips stay put on a sweaty face. Just make sure you apply them before you get sweaty!
Question: compare with Breathe Right Advanced
Answer: I'm copying my review of the Advanced strips which asked this question. Quick update if you don't want to read the review: I haven't used an Advanced strip since I wrote it."I personally find the Breathe Right "Extra" strips to be a step up from the regular ones. However, these "Advanced" strips have a design which seems to provide an even better result than the Extras, but it's not definitive. The primary problem is that they're only available as "Clear" strips. I've always found the plastic "springs" in the original Clear Breathe Rights to be very weak and the adhesive in those strips to be poor. Both aspects are improved in this version, but the adhesive is still lacking. It's not as good as the adhesive on the Tan strips, and it leaves a residue on your nose which can be difficult to clean off. Because of this, I find the Extra strips to be more convenient.I'm still not sure which is better, but I think I'll probably use the Extras most of the time, while keeping these around for occasional use, since they do open my nasal passages better."
Question: would you recommend this product
Answer: Absolutely. There are different 'styles' of this product. I have tried several, but now know that the EXTRA type works best for me. It adheres very well, is comfortable, and removes easily in the morning. Just amazing how it opens the breathing passages for such restful sleep. Give it a try!

User questions & answers

Question: Are these latex free
Answer: If it's a newer TV it should work, it is quite adjustable. It is really a nice stand, sturdy.
Question: where are these manufactured
Answer: It's a very strong adhesive so I would recommend buying a new strap should you decide to move it to a different piece of furniture or if you get a new TV If, however, you were simply wanting to move the same TV and the same piece of furniture I think you could undo the strap between them without damaging or having to remove the adhesive pads.

User questions & answers

Question: Are breathe right extra clear drug-free nasal strips for nasal congestion relief, 44 count by breathe right available from my subscribe and save
Answer: Yes
Question: What are the ingredients or what exactly make these work
Answer: It's a semi rigid piece of plastic, that sticks to the outside of your nose, and pulls you nasal passages open. Yes, it works. No drugs.
Question: I'm cursed with oily skin. WIll these stay on my nose all night sleeping
Answer: My husband and I both have oily skin - definitely use a cleanser before you go to sleep that will help the strip stick (but also just a good routine for your skin). If you have a problem still cleaning your nose with some alcohol can help (but also can make the strip stick too well & make it tough to remove - so if you do this method use it very sparingly.)
Question: Does this help with dry mouth at night
Answer: In my case my mouth gets dry because I have to breathe through it,so yes it’ll help because this guys open up your nasal passages so you won’t have to breathe through your mouth!

User questions & answers

Question: Anyone try these with a nose piercing
Answer: No but im sure u can adjust it.
Question: The picture says extra, in the cart the title says original. Which one is it
Answer: Amazon controls the description. I don't know why it reads "Original" in the cart. If you order from Health & Home Goods you will receive Breathe Right Extra 44 Strips.
Question: I'm cursed with oily skin. WIll these stay on my nose all night sleeping
Answer: Use Swan 99% alcohol (available from Amazon) as a swab by shaking a drop or two onto a tissue. Do NOT use drugstore alcohol, which is on 70% (30% water); it is too weak to get the oil off. Also, tear a small strip from your tissue, and put it right in the center of the strip to keep the aheasive from tearing up the bridge of your nose when you take it off in the morning.
Question: Size please
Answer: Wondering the same,it says "extra" so does that mean extra large or extra with drugs, if it's the size why can't they describe as"extra large" SMH!

User questions & answers

Question: I want med/small when do I select that choice. All the picturees feature - large
Answer: Call customer service
Question: Are these the actual "original" strips that stuck completely on the nose or are they simply called original because this was the first brand
Answer: I ordered both "tan" and "clear". The tan ones stuck to my nose, and my nose hurt if I don't use soap and water to remove it. Who wants to stand in front of the mirror to take the time to wash your Breathe Right off with soap and water? The clear ones can be removed first thing in the morning in bed without water. To answer your question, my best guess is that these "tan" ones are original. I would avoid them and look for "clear" in the Breathe Right title before I order them.
Question: Best way to get them off
Answer: COCONUT OIL! I just slather a small amount all over (maybe a 1/4 of teaspoon-ish) and on the edges especially. By the time you've worked it in, it's already coming off. Just gently work it in and around. In about 30 seconds it's off. Wash the remaining glue with soap and warm water. Apply more coconut oil because it's just so good for you and your skin! I didn't want to wait for a shower. I'm currently using the original.
Question: how do you get them off
Answer: Before I put one on, I put of strip of face cream down the middle of my nose. I also crease the strip in the middle. It adheres well to the sides of my nose and comes off easier when I lift the sides together. In the beginning I used uni-solve, an adhesive remover wipe. I prefer the clear strips because cream on the bridge of my nose and creasing the middle makes the adhesive remover unnecessary.
