12 best allergy nasal sprays
Allergy nasal sprays are over-the-counter or prescription medications designed to alleviate allergy symptoms associated with the nasal passages and sinuses. They are commonly used to provide relief from conditions such as seasonal allergies (hay fever) or year-round allergic rhinitis. Here's what you need to know about allergy nasal sprays:
Types of Allergy Nasal Sprays:
- Antihistamine Nasal Sprays: These sprays contain antihistamine medications that block histamines, which are responsible for allergy symptoms like sneezing, itching, and runny nose.
- Corticosteroid Nasal Sprays: Corticosteroid nasal sprays reduce inflammation and provide relief from nasal congestion, itching, and other allergy symptoms. They are often the preferred choice for managing moderate to severe allergies.
- Decongestant Nasal Sprays: Decongestant nasal sprays work quickly to relieve nasal congestion but should only be used for short periods (usually no longer than three days) to avoid a rebound effect.
- Saline Nasal Sprays: Saline nasal sprays contain a saltwater solution and are used to rinse and moisturize the nasal passages, helping to reduce congestion and irritation.
Allergy Symptom Relief: Allergy nasal sprays can effectively relieve a range of allergy symptoms, including sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, itching, and post-nasal drip.
Onset of Action: The onset of action varies depending on the type of nasal spray. Antihistamine and decongestant sprays may provide rapid relief, while corticosteroid sprays may take a few days to reach their full effect.
Long-term Use: Corticosteroid nasal sprays are generally considered safe for long-term use when used as directed. They are often recommended for individuals with persistent allergy symptoms.
Prescription vs.OTC: Some allergy nasal sprays are available over-the-counter (OTC), while others require a prescription. The choice between OTC and prescription nasal sprays may depend on the severity of your allergies and your doctor's recommendations.
Side Effects: Side effects of allergy nasal sprays are generally mild but can include nasal irritation, dryness, or nosebleeds. It's essential to use them as directed to minimize the risk of side effects.
Proper Technique: To maximize the effectiveness of nasal sprays, it's crucial to use them correctly. This includes proper administration, such as aiming the nozzle away from the center of your nose and not sniffing immediately after spraying.
Consultation with a Healthcare Provider: If you have allergies and are considering using an allergy nasal spray, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare provider, especially if you have underlying medical conditions or are taking other medications.
Allergen Avoidance: In addition to using allergy nasal sprays, allergen avoidance strategies, such as keeping windows closed during high pollen seasons or using air purifiers, can also help reduce allergy symptoms.
Allergy nasal sprays can provide effective relief for individuals dealing with allergic rhinitis and related symptoms. It's essential to choose the right type of nasal spray based on your specific symptoms and to use them according to the instructions provided on the product packaging or as directed by your healthcare provider.

Nasal congestion and inflamed nasal passages make it harder for odors to reach olfactory receptor neurons (the part of your brain that allows you to smell).
Nasacort Spray relieves nasal allergy congestion to help you regain your sense of smell and enjoy the world of smells around you.
Food Tasting Blah?
When your nasal passages are congested or inflamed due to allergies, food doesn’t taste as flavorful. That’s because the brain understands flavor through taste and smell.
Relieve your nasal allergy congestion to help you savor every bite with Nasacort Allergy Spray.
Muffled Sounds?
It’s not your imagination … stuffering can dull how things sound. That’s because nasal allergycongestion can cause your eustachian tubes (the tubes that connect the middle ear and the back of the throat) to swell, which could affect that connection and how clearly you hear.

User questions & answers
Question: | ingredientwhat are the other ingredients other than fluticasone propionate |
Answer: | Nope, I read the ingredients and no alcohol. I have had more relief in 4 days with this product than with anything else in a year. Just told my wife I'll buy the larger size soon. |
Question: | Is it a 2 pack |
Answer: | Yes, you can use this after toner. The purpose of toner is to bring the PH of your skin back up so it can better accept a moisturizer after cleansing. So it's perfect to use after toner. And on the jar it says the PH of this cream is 5.5, which is what your skin is naturally - just one of the reasons this cream is better than most. |
Question: | How does this compare to Flonase? It looks the same |
Answer: | No it is not medicated. |
Question: | Where is it made |
Answer: | It contains many natural ingredients that I've heard/read which have those specific properties. However, there's no conclusive data. I know in the medical field , there is medical grade honey that is used for wound healing. This does have honey in its ingredient list. However, it does not make those claims. It contains aloe, coconut oil, cocoa seed butter, shea butter, blue algae, olive oil, hemp seed oil , vitamin a,e,b5,b2, and c. It is really soothing, and I really do love it. It was really pain relieving on the problem eczema area on my hand. It hasn't healed it, but I also don't use it as frequently as I should. It definitely healed the new spots on my neck however. Hope this helps! |

This pollen peaks in September and can travel for months on the wind. Mold can also be a problem.

Keeping a log can help you and your doctor identify your triggers and fight congestion together.
Give a dog a bath
Keep pets out of the bedroom - and bathe and groom them regularly to keep those allergens away.
Check the forecast
Knowing when pollen levels are low can help you plan when to head outdoors - or stay inside.

Question: | Is this stuff made in chynah?! i don't mind just curious |
Answer: | Thank you to everyone for your responses! It really depends on the necessity of the user. The regular Deep Therapy Cream provided in the jar has epidermal growth factor for regular dry, itchy, or irritated skin. Please determine what your needs are before purchasing and hopefully, it will do the job for you! Best Regards, Rejuvica Health LLC. |
Question: | what country is this product made in? FDA protected |
Answer: | I have no idea if you can use this product on your face. It did nothing to help with the itch, rash or scaling of eczema. I wasted my money. |
Question: | is this free shipping for prime members? thanks i! advance. i am ready to purchase |
Answer: | It’s not greasy. This is the best cream for Eczema for sure! Expensive but works the best to stop itching and provide healing. I LOVE this cream but 4 oz goes fast. |
Question: | How many aprays? 120 or |
Answer: | Thank you Winger56 for your answer! While it is true that you want to avoid contact with the eye itself, applying the solution to a Q-tip and applying it that way, should be safe as long as you keep it just on the eyelid itself. If any rashing or itching ensues after application, stop use immediately! Best Regards, Rejuvica Health LLC. |

Question: | Can it be used for longer than 3 days without issue |
Answer: | I was elated to find that the tamper-resistant seal is on the box - not on the product itself. I have been using a similar product by another company that puts the entire bottle into a shrink-wrapped plastic seal that is almost impossible to get off without hurting myself! It requires a paring knife, or similar sharp, pointy tool - there is no tear line - and it comes off in little pieces, endlessly aggravating!! I bought this Ayr product yesterday when I noticed it at a store, and I like it MUCH better! I’ll be ordering it from here, from now on. |
Question: | How is it that the Sensimist with 60 metered sprays has more product in it than the 120 metered sprays? The 60 says 0.34 oz. The 120 says 0.31 oz |
Answer: | If you're looking for the "Afrin Effect" where it just blasts your sinuses and makes it so that you can breathe again, go get Afrin (or something like it). This product is meant to soothe and comfort and "help" with congestion, not totally clear your sinuses. |
Question: | I want to switch from my generic flonase to the senimist. Would the dosing be the same as in 2 sprays if i use 2 sprays of flonase |
Answer: | It sprays a stream. |
Question: | Will the sensimist cause fewer nosebleeds than regular flonase |
Answer: | 6 boxes |
