Answer:	I believe they are stainless steel coated with some type of non-stick product, such as teflon on the inside. I preferred all stainless steel cups, so I went online to ebay and found some cups. They aren't a perfect fit, just a tad large, but they work fine. I also replaced the knob on the cup tray because I wanted to be able pick it up without getting burned fingers. So, I bought this item-- 55706 Fitz-All Replacement Pot Knobs, Tall, Set of 2--and it works great. I got a stainless steel screw to replace the aluminum one that comes with the knobs. Anyway, after getting my poacher pretty much the way I wanted, I found that I don't use it as much as I thought. Just for special occasions. That being said, I like this skillet overall and looked at everything within my price range. This seemed to be the best. Just don't like teflon coated cookware.

Answer:	yes it does. We got rid of it and ordered the calphalon egg poacher. It is great, no odor and you have a great pan also. The cost is more but you will not be disappointed. The smell that came off of the Norpro smelled like electrical wiring burning, I felt that must be unhealty. One thing to consider is we have a high end commercial gas stove which puts out a lot of BTU's, it could be possible that the stove just was to hot for this pan. The eggs always came out fine but the odor offensive. Hope this helps
