Keep them stored in the aluminum case. If they become particularly dirty you can wash them in warm soapy water - however - remove the plastic attenuation filter before submerging the plug in water. Reinsert the filter only after the plug has dried thoroughly. The ear plugs should be replaced at any sign of wear and tear. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!

Answer:	The filter elements are clear (least noise reduction/most outside awareness), red, and black (most reduction/least outside awareness). To swap them, just push from the end that goes into your ear canal and force the element out towards the pull tab. Push in the preferred filter facing the same way until it seats.

Answer:	These ear plugs have noise reduction level of 32 decibels. They appear to have the highest noise reduction rating available on the market. There is a change in perception of how it sounds because of how the human ear works, even if the drop in noise is not all that significant. Relatively speaking, a normal conversation, however, is around 60-65 decibels.
Question:	Does anyone use these for sleeping? I am wondering if they are comfortable with multi-hour use, sleeping on the side, do they stay in all night, etc
Answer:	Yes, I've worn them for sleeping for a few years now due to noisy neighbors. They are comfortable with multi-hour use; sometimes a new pair can seem a bit large when first worn (hurting my ear a bit, but I have small ears). If this happens, I just pull them out a bit and all is well. And they do stay in all night if you insert them according to the directions on the package (pull ear up and back, roll the plug tightly and insert). I don't know what I'd do without these, they are a lifesaver as far as my sleep!

Answer:	50 pair ='s 100 individual units. To properly block sound, the average person needs two, a pair of earplugs, one for each ear, to be effective and block the sound. Always sold in pairs, like a pair of shoes, a pair of glasses (2 lenses, one frame), a pair of pants (2 legs, but one complete unit. I counted; my container had 51.5 pair (103 pieces).

Answer:	They are quite similar in size. The tip of the Dreamgirl is a bit pointier than the Slim Fit and the base of the Dreamgirl is flared a bit wider than the Slim Fit base. I know that doesn't help that much. If you like the color, I'd try the Dreamgirl. if not, I'd go for the purple Slim Fit. I hope this helps a least a little bit. Question:	Are these smaller than Mack's ultra soft? I am using them now, and they hurt
Answer:	Yes, they are smaller. If you look at the base (you can see it in the pictures of the product on Amazon), you will see a four-pronged opening that has a hole that penetrates into the center of the plug. This hollow helps the foam compress better when you roll it in your fingers before fitting into your ear. So it is smaller and thinner than the other size and easier to insert. I have tried the extra-soft Mack’s brand, plus two other storebrands. This is the only earplug that doesn’t hurt when I use it. It doesn’t cut the sound 100% for me, maybe close to 90%, but more than enough to get good sleep.
