Answer:	To the best of my knowledge, this lamp is not like you would expect with light bulb it has a mineral plate and a heating device, the minerals once heated starts the process of healing, or relieving of pain. I have had, up to now, very good healing and pain reduction with far-infrared technology. I am no doctor, and can only speak for my results. There are areas of the body and certain ailments that the lamp might not be able to relieve. Please do extra research or contact your doctor, to see if it is appropriate for you. Another thing you might want to try, is contact a doctor who might be using this technology, such as a Chinese medicine doctor, or chiropractic doctor. Good luck.

Answer:	I am not an expert but I believe it is not a "near infrared" lamp, it's a regular infrared one, like the one I owned and used for years in Europe. By the way this model is an excellent product (sturdy, well designed). worth every penny (or dollar)!

Answer:	NO.its running by a normal red low/med frequency range bulb (1000-2700K). So NO FAR IR.

Answer:	It is plenty warm. I keep it around 12 inches from my neck aimed at my spine and it relieves so much pain. It takes maybe 5 minutes for the warmth to start going deep; 10 minutes for the "ahhh this feels great" and after 15 minutes that's when I'm really enjoying it andv getting a lot of therapeutic relief. If you keep it on for 30-60m you can start sweating but not always. This isn't designed to make you sweat... NIR is meant to help deep penetrating detox; the good stuff is happening internally, behind the scenes (meanwhile you feel better and better).

Answer:	Both. Manufacturer specs list wavelengths between 500-2500nm. Rest assured, this is nothing like a 660nm or 850nm near infrared bulb. This device produces very hot heat that can burn your skin if the device is too close for the 15 minute duration.

Answer:	No it does not, and it is too thin and poorly coated with some typ of paint.

Answer:	That did not happen to me! Suggest you see if any packing material got near the surface of the lamp then run for a couple of cycles. If it still smells send it back as defective.

Answer:	The lamp I have is fully adjustable. Try rotating the head sideways. There should be something to tighten to keep it in place. Also suggest tightening all the nuts and bolts in the hinged arm.

Answer:	It might be that you need a new fuse. I've had quite a few of these lamps and the fuse is usually the first thing to go out (usually, but not always). Replacing the fuse is easy and cheap (the fuses are pretty standard and easy to find). Try that first before anything else. Replacing the plate is a huge pain (if you can even find the part) and is dicey in terms of actually fixing the problem. Hope that helps!
