| Answer: | Yes. If you are going to freeze small portions or you want to clean them first, portion and/or rinse, then spread the florets on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Freeze them for an hour. Next after they have a frozen outside put them in whatever container, i.e. Ziploc bags, you were going to use and then put them right back in the freezer. If you like the portion in the bag this particular brand comes in, it has enough air in it that you can just pop it in the freezer. I have frozen cauliflower a lot. The only times it went badly was once when I used a vacuum seal bag before freezing. Don't do that it turns the cauliflower into some sort of rubbery funky mess. The other time I didn't let the florets drain properly so they got a wee freezer burned. They can be a little wet on the outside it's actually good but not dripping wet. |

In the last 3 weeks I have noticed a marked decline in the freshness, with more of the broccoli appearing that is it starting to rot. It definitely has a strong odor when you open the bag. I can tell in the living room when my wife has opened in the kitchen. Our assessment is the stronger the odor, the worse the condition of the broccoli. We used to be able to have it pretty fresh 2-4 days after delivery. The last three weeks has been more like 1-2 days. |
