Answer:	No, they are not pickled. When you're shopping just be sure to check the label for a description. The label will tell you if the jalapenos are pickled. Usually the peppers in the jars are pickled and the canned are not pickled.
Question:	Is there a difference between diced jalapenos and diced green chiles
Answer:	Jalapenos and green chilis are as different as apple sauce and apple pie. They're both green, both members of the capsasian family, but that's about it. It's impossible to make blanket comparisons between the two without knowing what type of peppers or chilis you're talking about, and how they were grown and prepared. But as far as Ortega diced jalapenos versus Ortega diced green chili's, a 7 oz can of green chili provides flavor, but ZERO heat for my homemade salsa, whereas the 4 oz can of diced jalapenos (WITH seeds and juice) gives a nice kick. I add chili peppers for flavor, but jalapenos for heat.
