Another factor might be surface area (of the inside of the packaging) to volume ratio. |

Our Alaska Smokehouse Natural Smoked Salmon is characterized by a light pink color, fine texture and mild flavor. After being delivered to our smokehouse in Alaska within days of being caught, only the best salmon are selected for smoking. Once they are selected, the salmon are hand-filleted and soaked in a traditional Native American brine to then be hot smoked over alder wood fires. It goes through the smoke process to carry the brine throughout the entire salmon, making it one of the best tasting smoked salmon products on the market today. Finally, each fillet is inspected before it is sealed in a gold foil pouch, known as a retort, locking in the salmon’s freshness and rich flavor. The retort is then packed in our award-winning gift box for further protection. All the while no preservatives, coloring, oils, or artificial ingredients are ever added to these Kosher-certified Natural Smoked Salmon fillets. Our Natural Smoked Salmon fillets are great for entertaining! Serve them as appetizers with crackers or use them in smoked salmon recipes, which can range from a wonderful Salmon Quiche to a mouthwatering Salmon Fettuccine. If you would like to serve wine with the Natural Smoked Salmon, we suggest a Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, or a Merlot.

After a successful fishing trip, they preserved their salmon catch by smoking it over Alderwood fires. Our Smoked salmon fillets are smoked in the same carefully and time-consuming native American tradition. Our salmon are caught in Alaska waters and delivered to our ketchikan Smokehouse within days. At the Smokehouse, they are hand-filleted and soaked in a traditional native American brine. The salmon is then smoked over Alderwood fires. Finally, each Fillet is inspected before it is sealed in a golden foil pouch for freshness and rich flavor. 100% natural. No preservatives. Made in China.

| Answer: | There are four jars, each one contains a little less than 1 ounce. So to me it's one serving or at most two. I put it on some bread alone or with butter or cream cheese. The jars each last a long time before you open it. Put it in your refrigerator as soon as you get it. But once you open it you need to finish eating it within a day or two. But because they give you 4 separate jars like that it's really convenient. I really just love this product. I found the taste wonderful, very fresh, and the packaging great because you can eat each one before it goes bad and have 4 different types to try, the salmon roe (the pearl sized pink roe) being my favorite. | Answer: | I don't think that's necessary. They come in an air tight package and last forever if not opened. From what I have seen. Otherwise, I think anything can be frozen. Not sure it would affect it. |
