Answer: | They are bound together to form the pineapple... it shipped nicely and was intact and healthy... and growing nicely |
Question: | Does the plant require a pot to place in |
Answer: | These can grow in just about anything. I have many loose stalks and have them growing in those fish bowls (1 gallon) you get at Walmart for 7.88. I do not use rocks or gravel as I like to see the whole stalks and roots growing. It is important to grow covering only the roots with water as the stalk will die, fertilize with luck green bamboo fertilizer and clean pot/bowl well with hot water and rinse stalks regularly to prevent decay/rot/mold. |

Lucky Bamboo History
For over 4,000 years, lucky bamboo has been considered a symbol of good fortune in Asian cultures. Its natural ability to thrive in a variety of conditions and to adapt to its surroundings is now making this elegant plant a favorite in homes and businesses.
The ancient Chinese practice of Feng Shui, which believes that the balanced of elements will bring harmony to our living environments, values Lucky Bamboo as a perfect element of wood, with its tall, vertical shape and slender leaves. Watering Your Lucky Bamboo
- In areas where water is heavily treated with chlorine or fluoride, the leaves tips or edges of the lucky bamboo may become yellow or brown. Thus, simply allow your water to rest for 24 hours before using, allowing the chlorine and fluoride to dissipate.
Light Conditions
- Lucky bamboo grows naturally under the shady canopies of taller rain forest trees. Thus, perfect conditions for a strong and healthy plant, is an indoor location with no direct sunlight. They will also grow well under artificial lighting, such as in office buildings.
Feeding Your Lucky Bamboo
- Most local water provides no nutrients, the best food for lucky bamboo plants is the use of a very dilute solution of plant food. (Our SUPER GREEN Fertilizer is pre-mixed for Lucky bamboo) Because Lucky bamboo does not use soil to buffer the fertilizer acids and salts, the roots are easily burned if the solution is too strong. (i.e. Diluting Miracle Grow is too strong)

User questions & answers
Question: | are they good to grow outdoors |
Answer: | These should not be grown outdoors as they need to be rooted in water. They can be in a vase/planter in water with rocks and set on a patio or somewhere with indirect light, but they would not want to be planted outside. Hope this helps! |
Question: | Do the stalks grow taller or just the leaves |
Answer: | i think it's just the part where the leaves are attached. not the main stalk. some will grow new shoots on the main stalk. so the one they are selling is if it says 6" then it is measured from the stalk where the roots are till where it's cut. so the leaves part aren't included with the measurement. some will have 2" or more leaves. sometimes there are two leaves (shoots) on each stalk. |
Question: | will this grow outside in Denver Colorado |
Answer: | Not sure about Colorado, I am in Austin, TX and they grow well. I have mine in pots to keep them from spreading, so they’re easy to bring in and out of the house. They are small (maybe 5 inches), with a sprout at the top. |
Question: | How tall are the stalks |
Answer: | The Stalks are 6 inches tall, not including the height of the leaves. Hope this helps! |

The ancient Chinese practice of Feng Shui, which believes that the balanced of elements will bring harmony to our living environments, values Lucky Bamboo as a perfect element of wood, with its tall, vertical shape and slender leaves. Because Lucky Bamboo has the ability to thrive in most areas of the home or office, where other plants cannot, they are often used to balance the positive flow of energy or “chi” in these areas.
User questions & answers
Question: | Can I remove the gold twist tie |
Answer: | There's no reason why you cannot take this cold twisty tie off. It is only on there to keep them grouped together. If you do not want them grouped together you can separate it. Once you put bamboo stalks in rocks it will be stable and you do not need the gold twist tie keeping them tight together. |
Question: | Id like to put this in my Betty fish tank anyway to keep it healthy |
Answer: | It depends on how tall the fish tank is, but generally you'd want larger ones that are not completely submerged in water as the bamboo will not live. The roots need to be fully submerged in water at all times, and if some of the stalk is that is still fine. Feel free to contact us directly and we can get more information for you and suggest what might be best. Thanks! |
Question: | What size planter should I place these in |
Answer: | Hello, we generally put these in a 2.25" x 2.25" x 3" planter. So anything relatively near those dimensions would work just fine. hope this helps! |
Question: | What are the measurement of the bamboo shoot in centimeters |
Answer: | My set of three were 13 to 18 cm tall and 1 cm in diameter |
