12 best bran cereals
Bran cereals are a type of cold cereal that is known for its high dietary fiber content and nutritional benefits. They are often considered a healthy choice for breakfast or a snack. Here's what you should know about bran cereals:
Ingredients: Bran cereals are primarily made from bran, which is the outer layer of cereal grains such as wheat, oats, or rice. The bran is separated from the inner germ and endosperm during the milling process to create a cereal that is rich in fiber.
Fiber Content: One of the key features of bran cereals is their high fiber content. Fiber is essential for digestive health and can help regulate bowel movements, prevent constipation, and lower the risk of certain digestive disorders.
Nutritional Benefits: Bran cereals are a good source of several essential nutrients, including:
- Dietary Fiber: Helps promote a feeling of fullness and can aid in weight management.
- Vitamins: Depending on the brand and variety, bran cereals can contain vitamins such as B vitamins (e.g., folate, niacin) and minerals like iron.
- Antioxidants: Some bran cereals may contain antioxidants, which can help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Weight Management: Due to their high fiber content, bran cereals are often recommended for individuals looking to manage their weight. Fiber helps control appetite by providing a sense of fullness, which can reduce overall calorie intake.
Heart Health: Consuming bran cereals as part of a balanced diet may contribute to heart health. The fiber in bran cereals can help lower cholesterol levels, which is a risk factor for heart disease.
Digestive Health: Bran cereals are known for promoting regular bowel movements and preventing constipation. This is due to their fiber content, which adds bulk to stool and helps it move through the digestive tract.
Variety: Bran cereals come in various forms, including flakes, bran buds, and bran muffins. Some are sweetened with sugar or honey, while others are unsweetened, allowing consumers to choose the level of sweetness they prefer.
Serving Suggestions: Bran cereals are typically served with milk or a milk alternative. Many people also add fresh fruits, such as berries or bananas, to enhance the flavor and nutritional profile of their cereal.
Gluten-Free Options: While wheat bran is a common ingredient, there are gluten-free bran cereals available for individuals with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease. These may use grains like rice bran or oat bran.
Storage: To maintain freshness, it's important to store bran cereals in a cool, dry place in an airtight container or their original packaging. This helps prevent them from becoming stale or absorbing unwanted odors.
In summary, bran cereals are a nutritious breakfast option known for their high fiber content and potential health benefits, including digestive health, weight management, and heart health. They come in various forms and can be customized to suit individual tastes and dietary preferences.

User questions & answers
| Question: | Is this $19.98 for only one box |
| Answer: | At least you noticed the price. Last time I ordered it was from England and I paid $66 for 3 for slightly larger boxes. I have noticed the usual price for 5 at times. But I am waiting until I use up the 3 boxes I have. If this shortage continues - you cant get it in stores - I may change completely to Bran Buds. There is no word about Kelloggs cancelling the product but it has been months. I disagree with the other answer it is obviously 1 box |
| Question: | Is this for one box |
| Answer: | Yes! 18.3 oz is correct weight for one box. |
| Question: | what does the package say about carb content? Thanks |
| Answer: | 32 grams |

About the Brand
In the late 1800s at the Battle Creek Sanatorium, a combination hospital and health spa for the elite and famous, W.K. Kellogg, business manager, and his brother, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg, chief physician, were in the process of cooking some wheat for a type of granola when they were called away. When they returned, the wheat had become stale. They decided to force the tempered grain through the rollers anyway, and surprisingly, the grain did not come out in long sheets of dough. Instead each wheat berry was flattened and came out as a thin flake. This led to the formation of the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company in 1906, which eventually became Kellogg Company--changing the form of breakfast forever.
The company that makes breakfast and snacks for millions began with only 44 employees. Today, Kellogg employs more than 25,000 people, manufactures in 17 countries, and sells its products in more than 180 countries. Kellogg is the worlds leading producer of cereal and a leading producer of convenience foods, including cookies, crackers, toaster pastries, cereal bars, frozen waffles, and meat alternatives. The companys brands include Kelloggs, Keebler, Pop-Tarts, Eggo, Cheez-It, Club, Nutri-Grain, Rice Krispies, All-Bran, Special K, Mini-Wheats, Chips Deluxe, Sandies, Morningstar Farms, Famous Amos, and Kashi.

User questions & answers
| Question: | What is the calorie count per individual serving |
| Answer: | Per the single serving box of 32g, there are 100 calories. |
| Question: | When will it expire |
| Answer: | i ordered on 6/29/19 and the exp date is 4/21 |
| Question: | How many calories in each box |
| Answer: | The short answer: 130 calories (of which 15 from Fat). I am just surprised to see that images of the boxes do not include the side view which has the Nutrition facts listed. Hopefully, amazon folks are monitoring these response and will fix this. Then would also see that one box also has 9 grams in various sugars (equivalent to tad over 2 tea-spoon of sugar). I take it mainly for the fiber content (64% of daily requirement!). Hope this helps. |
| Question: | Is this a product of the United States |
| Answer: | Not side-by-side box says distributed by Kellogg Sales Co. Battle Creek, Mi. I assume if product came from outside USA they would be required to say so. |

Nature's Path Organic Cereal, Flax Plus Raisin Bran is an excellent way to start the day. It contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids.
About the Brand
In 1971, Arran Stephens and a business partner opened Canada's first large organic supermarket, LifeStream. Founded on the ideal of serving delicious, wholesome foods grown and processed in harmony with nature, the store soon expanded into milling, baking, making muesli, granolas, alfalfa sprouts, nut butters, energy bars, and wholesale distribution. Within a few years, the LifeStream line had grown to include a wide range of products, including both natural and organic whole grain foods and soy-based vegetarian entrees. The company even published its own vegetarian cookbook, which sold over 125,000 copies. Annual sales at LifeStream reached $9 million, making the line one of Canadas leading natural food brands at the time. LifeStream sales continued to grow to $12 million, but an awkward partnership led to the sale of the company in 1981. It eventually was acquired by Kraft/Phillip Morris.
Then in 1985, Arran and his wife, Ratana, started a new venture christened Natures Path, from the back of their natural foods restaurant. The companys first product, Sprouted Organic Manna Bread, debuted at the Natural Products Expo in Anaheim, Calif. Organic Multigrain, Multigrain & Raisin, and Millet Rice Flakes were the very first Natures Path cereals and remain as popular as ever. By 1989, building on the success of its cereals, the company had grown 800%. To meet demand, acreage was bought and a 54,000 square foot organic processing plant was built in Delta, British Columbia, Canada. This was the first third-party certified organic cereal plant in the world. Later, ten years after starting Nature's Path, the Stephens family purchased back LifeStream from Kraft. Since, the company has continue to expand its facilities and the brands and products it offers--adding waffles, additional cereals, granola and energy bars, flaxseed meal, baking mixes, and more.

| Question: | Why is it $100 more than it was in January |
| Answer: | Ask the sender. |
| Question: | Are the raisins hard or soft |
| Answer: | It's a mixed bag; sometimes they're pretty hard (though I've never encountered them being anything like pebbles ;) ), other times they're relatively soft (but not as soft as raisins would be from a bag that you just opened yourself). |
| Question: | what is the glycemic level and glycemic load of this cereal |
