Answer:	Hi and thank you for your purchase and your order. The blend does not have stevia. There are only four ingredients in it - organic turmeric root, organic ginger root, organic lemongrass and organic licorice. The sweet taste comes from the Licorice.

Question:	Does ANYBODY know the antioxidant content when brewing one single bag? The Bigelows don't respond on their website, twitter,facebook, etc
Answer:	Green tea contains compounds called catechins (a subset of a group of compounds called polyphenols) that in test tube studies show antioxidant, anticarcinogenic, antitumorigenic, and antimicrobial properties. The main catechin found in green tea is epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). Consumer Lab did a study on many popular green teas and found Bigelows to have 25.0 mg EGCG and 60.9 mg total catechins. Bigalow organic and decaf green teas were higher. This compares to Lipton Green Tea that had the highest of all tested at 71.1 mg EGCG and 188.1 mg total catechins. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Thank you for your question! We can confirm that the filter paper used for our tea bags is 100% natural, but it is not certified organic. We use a non-heat sealable filtration paper made from a select blend of high quality manila hemp (abaca) fibers and wood pulp. This paper is oxygen bleached using a natural process free of chemicals or toxins. In addition, our tea bag filtration paper does not contain GMOs, gluten, corn nor any of the eight FDA recognized allergens (tree nuts, peanuts, milk, eggs, fish, crustacean shellfish, wheat or soybeans). Answer:	Thank you for your question. We have updated our brewing instructions for this tea to the following: Brew 1-2 tsp (2g) in 8 fl. oz. of 170-180°F water for 1-3 minutes. Tea must be brewed at a minimum of 170°F for at least 1 full minute. We recommend using an infuser for brewing; remove it prior to drinking. Answer:	Hi. I would say it's very broken pekoe, but it's not itty bitty pieces or fannings. So, while it's not the gourmet tea I personally import from China, I like it for the price. Sometimes I can't afford the TOL stuff. I like it as a budget tea. Of course I would drink golden monkey every day if I were made out of money. I have been happy with all of the loose stash teas. Answer:	I would say no. The leaves are tightly wound. The hot water unravels them. I steep in hot for 20 mins. I don't think you would get much flavor in cold. I have however brewed it hot and then iced it. It's good that wayou too.

Answer:	The leaf tea was hand rolled into pearl (ball) shape. Therefore, it is call pearl. Gunpowder green is the tea color. The tea is not bag packed, it sells as loose tea in a can.

Answer:	My experience has been positive. I have ordered this tea on several occasions and have always received a consistent quality product which was well shown in the the photo reprentation.

Answer:	The only ingredient is green tea. If it is certified organic, that means it is GMO free and pesticide free. There are no artificial flavors as there is no flavoring. It's just straight tea. I do know this, this is a very inferior product and I would NOT order it. I would find another supplier.

Answer:	Unless an individual tea has been tested there is no way to know the caffeine content. There is a good article on this at http://ratetea.com/topic/caffeine-content-of-tea/21/I also don't know what you want me to compare this tea to in your 1-5 scale. Coffee? Other teas? Other green teas? Soda?OK, so having said all that, I make an extract of this tea by steeping it for hours and then straining it - so this is quite concentrated. I use the extract as a mouthwash which I swish around and then swallow. Answer:	generally speaking green tea is good for 6 months. My bag has no expiration date. I have never bought tea with expiration date that I know of so I use the 6 months rule from the time I open the bag.

Answer:	I assume there is because it does not state that it’s caffeine free, normally coffee products and two products state clearly that they are caffeine free if there is no caffeine in the product so I’m assuming there is caffeine in this green tea. Not sure if I’m just immune to caffeine but I don’t feel the same effects from it as I would if I had a strong cup of caffeinated coffee, I actually have had this green tea and did not have trouble sleeping

Answer:	Tea is not grown in the USA, and it may not be packaged here either. So. at best it must come from somewhere in Asia. The package does not specify but most likely Zeijiang Province, China, as most green teas are grown and processed there.

Question:	are these teas organic
Answer:	I do every day. I brew a cup for myself using about 1 1/2 tablespoons on the tea. I steep it in about 4 cups of almost boiling water. I’ll steep it for about 3-4 minutes and fill my travel cup. I then add more water to my tea pot and let that steep for another 5-10 minutes. I strain it and chill for iced tea. It’s wonderful. So I get a full cup of hot tea and about 4-5 cups of iced with each steep.
Question:	Truly organic? latest bag does not say organic on it, the order prior to this one did say organic...what gives
Answer:	No, they're finely cut; out of all the companies that sell loose-leaf sencha green tea, this is one of the best; flavorful after only 30-second brewing.
Question:	What do you store your loose tea in
Answer:	That's a little difficult to answer, but I think I get at least 40. It depends upon how strong you want your tea to be. I like to mix this tea with just a little bit of Oolong. I make a small pot that gives me two mugs of tea and I think I use about a tablespoon of Sencha and half a teaspoon of Oolong. I like my tea on the mild side. The last time I bought a big bag of organic Sencha and I refilled this container. I have enough left in the bag to refill this again. I hope this helped!

Answer:	Green tea is the first ingredient listed then Matcha as 2nd in the ingredients list, so even though Matcha is at least less than half the ingredients in the plastic nylon bag that you put in your cup to steep.

Question:	What is the country of origin
Answer:	Gunpowder tea traditionally made in China, it got its name from the shape of tea leaves rolled into a pellet. In China it is called zhu cha (pearl tea). In China this tea has many grades of quality - from the cheap at 1 dollar a pound to very expensive aged tea to 1000 dollars a pound. Tea could be contaminated w lead and other toxic chemicals or could be totally clean. Tea made for export usually is different from the one for the domestic market, since it is specified for the requirements of each country. Teas specified to the U.S. standards are generally clean or organic, so no worry! :)

Answer:	I have learned the best way to brew this tea is: 1. Heat water to 180 degrees (too hot will not give optimal flavor and will diminish the antiox. benefit) 2. steep for 4 mins (too long will cause the bitterness of the tannins to come through) 3. pre-warm the cup (I rinse the cuop under hot water before pouring the tea into it. This may sound complicated but it isnt once you have a method. I drink 36 ounces every morning before work....I love this tea.
Question:	How many cups i can make out of one bag
Answer:	Depends on exactly how much tea you use per cup. This has been my wife's everyday tea for almost two years now and normally make it one teaspoon/cup. I was surprised by the wide range (50-300 cups) of answers and all the guessing that led to them so I did the math. I weighed a teaspoon of tea using my kitchen scale and came up with an average of 2.33 grams. The bag contains 453 grams of tea. 453/2.33= 194 cups of tea per bag

Green Tea Facial Mask

Grind 1 tbsp Numi Gunpowder Green tea into a fine powder with a mortar & pestle or food processor. Mix the green tea with ½ tsp baking soda and 1 ½ tsp raw honey. Wash face and apply the mask; leave on for 5-10 min. For maximum skin brightening effects, gently rub your skin in small circular motions to exfoliate as you remove the mask, then rinse.
