User questions & answers
Question: | What type of oil are they fryed in |
Answer: | This is what the website says: http://www.rmpalmer.com/christmas/faqs/ Are any of your products Gluten-free? Our products that do NOT contain "cookies" or "crisp rice" are gluten-free. However, ALL of our products are manufactured on machinery that also manufactures products WITH gluten. They don't even say "in the same facility" they say "on the same machinery" so these are first of all, not labled gf, and they do not certify gf (which would require re-testing periodically), so basically you're down to checking it with your Nima for 20ppm or less, or asking Glutenfreewatchdog web owner to test it for you. And you have to do it individually because you don't know that all these came through the machine at the same time, with no mixing. Not my idea of fun. So I gave it away. I'm still looking for a certified gf one. |
Question: | What kind of salt |
Answer: | I checked on OU Kosher site, and they do show Palmer as being on their list, however, when I googled the UPC for this, and it brings up RiverFinn as the Brand & manufacturer. |
Question: | How many calories are in these |
Answer: | I picked up my mail the same day they were delivered and still got a melted mess, completely unusable. The cold packs did nothing. |
Question: | Are these good for a low carb diet |
Answer: | yes they do |

User questions & answers
Question: | The calorie math does not add up. Pork rinds are 80 calories for 14 grams but this is 90 calories for 28 grams. Must be a lot of stuff added |
Answer: | not that I am aware of |
Question: | How many bags of regular pork rinds are used to make each jar? Asking for a friend |
Answer: | Yes. We bake it every other day in Bay Shore, New York. While it's good to last 6 months we keep a low stock on Amazon to ensure you're getting extremely fresh food. |
Question: | is there msg in these |
Answer: | With a product such as granola, measuring by anything other than weight doesn't make sense. Your 1/3 cup would vary depending on the size of the pieces. The only fair way would be to weigh the entire bag. If the bag says a serving is 30g, weigh out 30g. |
Question: | What is the shelf life |
Answer: | We store it in the pantry and have no problems with freshness. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these prepared in any vegetable oils or just 100% pig fat? Thanks |
Answer: | Yes, however it may be too big to fit on a standard indoor stove. Please measure your stove top to see if you can fit a 12-13" kettle on your stove top and still have room on top. Thank you |
Question: | How do you bake them? The description says microwave or bake, and I want to make a lot |
Answer: | Sorry, we haven’t done craw fish, this summer. Did clams with Low Country. The pot had plenty of room for more just reduce some liquis |
Question: | Can you fry them |
Answer: | Hi, Bottom is single ply, same thickness as the side walls. Generally this kettle is used for steaming and boiling, so having a triply bottom is not necessary for its intended purposes. Thank you |
Question: | Where is this pork from? That is, does anyone know if it is free range, organic, etc |
Answer: | I am unsure of the gauge. Don't hesitate to buy it though. I was worried it might be paper thin and be as fragile as my aluminum. Don't worry. The pot and basket together are probably 15 to 20 pounds. I dropped mine taking it out of the truck. It sounded like a church bell ringing but didn't have a scratch on it. |

User questions & answers
Question: | We can't have a microwave in our home, any way of heating these in the oven |
Answer: | I tried this brand with an air popper and found that, because they are so small and light, many kernels shot out of the popper without being popped. But the ones that were popped were absolutely great! I also found many unpopped kernels at the bottom of the bowl. Another thing worth noting about this brand is that I didn't experience the annoying kernel shells that always get stuck in my teeth after eating popcorn! |
Question: | Has anyone figured out the best air fryer settings |
Answer: | I've had a bag of popcorn (not this brand) for many years in my freezer. It always tastes delicious when we pop it. It's been there because we were using microwaved bagged popcorn for a long while, but now I'm using up this bag in the freezer. No problems with it. Therefore, I don't think unpopped popcorn expires (at least if in the freezer). |
Question: | Why are the nutrition facts on the product so much different than what is shown? 3x the fat, half the protein |
Answer: | Depends on your cooking time and amount of oil. Usually the yellow popcorn is very much chewier. We usually use about 1 tablespoon canola oil to 1/3 cup white popcorn in a 2 quart saucepan. IWe then melt about 1/4 stick butter to top it off. Amount of salt is your preference. Ifpopcorn is made in microwave, it will turn out much chewier. Bottom line, what type of popcorn do you prefer? Then make your favorite! |
Question: | Is there any overpowering odor to these? I was thinking of getting these as a work snack, but I don't want to overpower coworkers/shared kitchen |
Answer: | I just put 1/4 cup of this popcorn into a paper lunch bag, fold the top of the bag over so it can stand upright in the microwave, and set the microwave for 2 minutes. It's usually done by 1:45. Makes one generous serving. I drizzle with flavored oil and salt after it's popped. |

Question: | Are these from Humanely raised, all-natural Pork with no added hormones or antibiotics |
Answer: | I do not know the answer to that question. |
Question: | If cane sugar is the second ingredient in the package, how can it be 0g of added sugar to it?! Very strange |
Answer: | Most likely because the quantity of cane sugar is less than 1g per serving, which is then rounded down to 0g. This doesn't mean an absence of it, just an inconsequential amount. |
