10 best dish receiver for tv
A dish receiver for TV, commonly known as a satellite receiver or set-top box, is a crucial component in a satellite television system. It's responsible for receiving signals from a satellite dish and converting them into a format that can be displayed on a television screen.
Here are some key points about dish receivers:
Functionality: A dish receiver acts as an intermediary between the satellite dish and your television. It captures the digital signals sent from satellites in orbit, decodes them, and then sends the signal to your TV in a format it can understand.
Types of Receivers:
Standard Definition (SD) Receivers: These are designed to process standard-definition TV signals. They can display channels in lower resolutions.
High Definition (HD) Receivers: These are capable of processing high-definition signals, providing much clearer and sharper images on compatible TVs.
4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) Receivers: These are the latest generation of satellite receivers, optimized for 4K resolution televisions. They deliver the highest quality video available.
Features:
DVR Functionality: Many modern receivers have built-in Digital Video Recorder (DVR) capabilities. This allows you to record programs, pause live TV, and schedule recordings.
Interactive Services: Some receivers offer interactive services like video-on-demand, electronic program guides, and other internet-based features.
Internet Connectivity: Some advanced receivers can connect to the internet for services like streaming video, accessing online content, and software updates.
Smart Card Slot: Receivers typically have a slot for a smart card, which is used to decrypt the signal from the satellite provider. This card is usually provided by your satellite TV provider and is essential for accessing paid channels.
Ports and Connectivity:
HDMI Ports: Most modern receivers have HDMI ports for connecting to your TV. This provides the best video and audio quality.
Audio/Video Outputs: In addition to HDMI, older receivers may have composite or component video outputs, as well as RCA audio outputs.
Digital Audio Output: This allows for connecting to surround sound systems or soundbars.
Remote Control: Dish receivers come with a remote control that allows you to navigate through channels, access menus, and control various functions of the receiver.
Satellite Compatibility: Receivers are typically designed to work with specific satellite systems or providers. Ensure that your receiver is compatible with the satellite TV service you're using.
Installation and Setup: Setting up a dish receiver involves connecting it to the satellite dish, linking it to your TV, and configuring it based on your preferences. This usually involves selecting your language, setting up your local channels, and potentially connecting to your home network.
Remember, for specific details or troubleshooting, it's always a good idea to refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer's support service.

User questions & answers
Question: | Do you have remote only for bip211z |
Answer: | No, it's far superior to vip221k |
Question: | Hey guys ... are you sure you don't mean there is a 1 TB limit to the DVR? That's 1,000 GB and is the same as the 211K. You can't save HD to 1 GB |
Answer: | The remote is rf, but if you have voice remote it needs wifi connection to work with voice command. Also there is no bluetooth unless you add a usb dongle to the rear of wally around $20.00. Look at dish outdoor for more info. |
Question: | Can this receiver play back Dish recordings from an external hard drive without being connected to the Dish network |
Answer: | The receiver connects to the tv via a HDMI cable or the old school right, white, and yellow plug type cables. Look at the back of your tv. I’m not sure if HDMI was around 15 years ago, but I am sure the tv has the old school inputs I mentioned. |
Question: | Does this work on any of dish satellites |
Answer: | I use this with the carryout and it works perfectly, keep in mind that through trial and error I have found that you will need to keep the carryout connedted to the 12 volt power supply while using. Also note that the screen may say it takes 5 minutes, no way it takes a lot longer, set it up and find something to do for at least 30 minutes. When your done it works great on all channels. :-) |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the significance of the 1305908409 number |
Answer: | That’s nothing but an internal inventory control number |
Question: | If power off between uses in rv must the wally be set up each time? or does it remember its set up configuration forever |
Answer: | In the instances when we have lost power our Wally had to go back through the set up. Frustrating because sometimes it takes several minutes to reconnect and it doesn't remember the station you were on. But if you just turn it off it remembers the station you wrer on when you turn it back on. |
Question: | What is the return policy |
Answer: | Standard Amazon return policy |
Question: | Is this a new item? Will it come in a sealed box with the original codes on the box matching those on the machine |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this work with a Wingard pathway x2 as a primary receiver. With satellite set up and everything else |
Answer: | No we have for any receiver |
Question: | Will this receiver work with a king dome 9702 lp to provide dish services in hd with local stations |
Answer: | OWNER OF ORIGINAL 4000 MODELS, 5000 AND 625. NOW USE 211K TAILGATOR with HDMI AND VIDEO, LEFT/RIGHT AUDIO OUTS. NEWER 211 IS NON-VIDEO OUTS. I NEED TO COPY TO MY PANASONIC SD RECORDER. NOW...LISTEN UP...AFTER NOT MUCH INSTRUCTIONS IN USE OF AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVES, YOU CAN USE A 2TB hard drive besides a 1TB....here is the difference...NONE! But you have to pay attention to just ONE THING. I found that the limitation is not in Quality, but Quanity of recordings....Not the size of memory, but the NUMBER OF RECORDINGS! YES, DISH LIMITS RECORDINGS TO 1000 (events) ON any size Hard Drive. Any thing over 1000 will not record. You need to delete recordings you don't want to keep to record new ones, regaurdless of HARD DRIVE SIZE. I like WD drives, but they don't have nor tell you the model of the acceptable drives the receivers can use. Also have a brother that uses 722's and can't re-establish older drives with new/refurbished receivers he's pissed. But, I think it time for him and I go to the Hopper for home unit, but I'll keep my Tailgator as long as they support it, to recev my programing locally and remotely....somewhere in the remote areas of New Mexico or Colirado...love my van/Tent and portable systems, including a honda generator to power my campsite... roughing it! Remember, its number of events on either size drive limited to 1000, but not size (sorta) of recordings, which are (approx.) In SD and HD. They are Shown in the top bar of events recorded. It varies...HD is approx 45mins to 1hr for every hr left indicadted. 1hr HD is equivlent to 85-92 mins SD. Just to let you know, incase you are litterally out of time! Good luck. Now go check your events numbers, and see if you are STUCK! IF YOU ARE, TIME TO GET RIDE OF THOSE "FRIENDS" recordings...they SUCK (LAME) ANYWAYS! BY THE WAY, USE YOUR RECORDING CONSTRICTIONS TO HELP YOU GET RID OF OLD, UNLOCKED RECORDINGS ON EACH TITLES. PLEASE READ AND GATHER INFO FROM YOUR DIRECTIONS AND TIPS ON DISH ON-LINE. HAPPY RV-ING. |
Question: | How many watts |
Answer: | you can but you need a hard drive and pay a fee to activate had drive. no hard drive no recording. |
Question: | What kind of warranty comes with this product? If the unit malfunctions (software or programming), will dish network update the software |
Answer: | Yes, as far as I know. We didn't have a special setup or anything. You can also ask Dish to be certain. |

Question: | Where can I get an electronic version of the install manual |
Answer: | We looked without success, so we bought a carrying case for a bass drum. Works great. |

Answer: | If you have a DVR type receiver or a HD attached and registered with the appropriate receiver. I have a VIP211z with a 1TB USB drive attached and it works fine. |
Question: | Does this include the satellite dish |
Answer: | signal strength at our current location in east central South Dakota .... our year old Carryout G2+ ... satellite/highest signal strength == 110/45, 119/25, 129/30 our new Pathway .... 110/62, 119/52, 129/53, 61.5/56, 72/58, 77/45 since switching to the Pathway we have had 2 very hard rains that would have blocked the signal when using our Carryout G2+, our Pathway held a signal lock during both of those rains ... that said, I'm sure we will sooner or later have a strong enough storm to interrupt the signal |
Question: | I have a genie and additional boxes (2). do i have to use the genie to make it work |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this come with the needed access point |
Answer: | This product is designed to work in North America |
Question: | Will this give me WiFi on my iPhone |
Answer: | This sound bar will support 4K HDR passthrough. |
Question: | Are hdmi and rca ports simultaneously active on wireless joey? can i feed one tv on each? also what can i do with the usb and ethernet ports |
Answer: | No they use a quick bare wire clamp but work best if the wire is tined. If you have trouble with soldering try these: Monoprice 109438 High-Quality Copper Speaker Closed Plugs - 5-Pair, Pin Screw Type they cost about $13.00 and are Prime. P.S. I liked the look of the connectors so much I just bought a set because soldered wire tips are looking a bit pokey. I also use 16 AWG speaker wire and if you are running under 100' cheep lamp cord is just fine. Don't use anything under 20 AWG for any size of a run. |
Question: | Does this Joey work on wireless internet or does it have to be hard wired |
Answer: | Yes of course, I use the bigger version of these for my fronts, Dayton audio center channel speaker, and plan to get these to replace the speakers I am currently using for rears. |

Answer: | It lays flat once you put things on it. I love it for the pantry shelves. |
Question: | What states will have difficulty picking up the signal? I noted that it would be difficult in Alaska and Vermont |
Answer: | Thick enough. Didn't seem to puncture easily. However , since it comes in a roll was difficult to put down on the shelves in the wire cart I was using it for. |
Question: | does the wally reciever need a power source |
Answer: | No, there are just 2 liners in the 2 pack. You would need 3 packs and you would have 1 liner left over. The price has gone up on these from $8 to $13. |
