All you have to do though is replace the old receiver with the new one, then call Directv with your account number handy and give them the serial number of the new receiver. The serial number and card number will be on the screen when you turn it on. Once they enter into the system you will see the new receiver start receiving information from the satellite almost immediately. |

I am not certain but I know that when I stopped my service I was required to return my access cards or I would have been billed extra for not doing so as stated in their letter to me wh I cancelled my service after 2 years. |

| Answer: | SWM stands for "Single Wire Multiswitch" When I moved 2 years ago I switched everything over to the SWM system. It allowed me to have one single coax wire to each receiver. Really cuts down on clutter. To do this I had to have the green label on all components. The LNB, 4-way splitter and power inverter. (I do not have the Whole Home Deca system) Remember each DVR counts as 2 tuners/receivers. I have 4 TV's 2 HDDVR's and 2 HD Receivers. I had to upgrade my 5 LNB dish by getting the LNB with the Green Label on it. Directv does this for free when you move but charges you a fee when not associated with moving. You also need a green label splitter and green label power inverter. You can do the upgrade yourself or pay Directv. Changing the LNB does not affect signal strength. |

So i dont know exactly if the hdmi output on the 54 is 2.0. But I've been noticing that I'm watching more 4k shows from netflix than the genie. Directv needs to step up and get more 4k programming. Ive been with directv since 1996, but if netflix gets more current programming in 4k, I'm leaving DTV. |
