Question:	Has the "child lock" problem been fixed? I'd like to order, but not if it still has problems
Answer:	I'd like to hear from Sony on this. My (previous model) BDPS580 had the child lock issue and a buffering problem. After constant buffering problems with Netflix etc, we bought a roku which NEVER buffers. We use the Sony only for BluRay playback. Re the child lock issue, after many days and hours of we give up. It's horrible. We downloaded a firmware update. It hung up on install and now it will not reload because it thinks it's complete. So the machine constantly displays the flashing goodbye message "see you" and does not consistently open, close, turn on or off. We do the various reset procedures "home-return-top menu" or unplug and replug, or hold the power button for 10 seconds, and then it sometimes responds. Once, twice. Then dies again. We turned off the quick start feature, tried to update the firmware again, many times, and it won't update because it thinks it doesn't need it. To be clear, it NEEDS something. Horrible machine.

Answer:	Not sure what kind of TV or surround sound you have. But if it's not blue tooth, you'll have to run separate Coax Cables. Those are the white and Red for sound. Yellow is video. You may need to run a receiver to run multiple auxiliary units. Tv. Dvd, XBox ect.

Answer:	Go to your TV remote and find a button that says picture. usually on the bottom. Click on it and select the picture you want. I change the picture size all the time and it is amazing how many people don't know how to do this. You can do this for TV shows also. I think this is the problem but I am no expert. Try it.

Answer:	Not sure. Mine stopped working too after the first movie. Very disappointed. Won't buy anymore electronics on this site.
Question:	Netflix has stopped supporting some sony blu ray players. how do i find out if this model is still supported by netflix
Answer:	You will get an advanced notification when you select the Netflix app telling you the date it will no longer be supported. I haven’t gotten that message on this Blu-ray model yet so I’m guessing it will be supported for another year or so. Disney+ is not available on this model.
Question:	Can you access Disney plus app
Answer:	As of today, no. That was the main reason I bought this "new" player but since it was manufactured in 2017 I'm guessing it won't support the Disney+ app. When I got this back in August it already no longer supported the Hulu app that was preloaded on it. If you buy a Blu-Ray player on Amazon just make sure it was manufactured in 2019.
Question:	Does this unit work with amazon prime video? my current unit has amazon instant video on it but will not work with prime
Answer:	Amazon has removed support of Prime Video from several DVD players beginning with products manufactured from November 2019 onward. That is one reason I paid a higher price for this unit to replace an older unit of the same model, but Prime Video is no longer there.

Answer:	Without the remote the only thing you can do with the player is turn it off and on and open and close the tray. To navigate the menu, pause, rewind etc. you will need the remote.

Answer:	YES. HDMI output is both video and sound, and HDMI is in fact digital. My digital receiver has HDMI inputs, so I can play digital sound directly, with all of the surround modes supported. This unit does not appear to have TOSLINK or digital coax outputs, and no analog outputs, but these are old standards that are giving way to pure HDMI. The real question you need to ask is: does your RECEIVER have an HDMI input? If it does, you should be all set. BTW you can check out manuals online to find answers like this.

Answer:	Yes, but the problem I found along with others on here is that this device is not capable of consistently streaming. It will freeze up for no apparent reason, then you have to try and log out and log back in and it will act like a lap top that has malware. Goes real slow, I even experienced a moment where I went back into try and start my movie and it was frozen but you could hear the characters on the movie talking! It sucks don’t waste your money.
