| Answer: | Man did you get the right guy. No it is NOT! It's a standard blu ray. I should have recognized the BDP vs UDP indicator with the model no. You have correctly identified that the 4K indicator wasn't very specific. In fact, it was. It applied to the HDMI cable, only! I'm in the process of packing it all up and returning it to Amazon. |

It is confusing because it says it's bundled with a 4K certified hdmi cable ( even though there is no such thing as a 4k hdmi cable) It will play DVDs and BlueRay disks. 4K players are still expensive at this point but Philips makes the most reasonably priced one right now. I returned this and got the Philips and am quite happy with it. |
