But, it won't look as crisp as a 4k uhd movie.

Answer:	My LG UBK90 plugs into my Denon AVR via an HDMI cable (along with 7 other devices also with HDMI cables), and then one HDMI out from the Denon to a 70in 4K TV (that also does Dolby Vision). I have had this player for a little over a year and specifically purchased it for the Dolby Vision capabilities. I get Dolby Vision whether the Denon AVR is on or off. I have not had any issues with it at all and have been 100% satisfied with it. A majority of folks who have had issues found they were using an older HDMI cable, which prevented Dolby Vision from playing properly. Don't think you have to pay premium prices for the cables because you don't. They are available here and at Monoprice (just to name a few) and the cables I am using were less than $8.00 each. Just do your homework on the cables as the older style cables will cause you problems. Hope this helps. (I just saw this was over a year old....duh!)

Answer:	I tried this intriguing question this morning. The remote does not work through walls and seems to have a max distance of 10 feet. You will need a repeater/relay setup as for cabinet enclosed stereo systems.

Answer:	The instructions that came with mine tell me to turn off the player (with the disc still in the drawer) and to use the remote to choose the region. Look at the back of the box that your blu ray came in to figure out which version in the world it is compatible. In general, "B" means Region 2. See Amazon for more region codes. With your machine off, press, for example, "2" on your remote to select Region 2. My machine turned on when I pressed "2" on the remote and started playing the disc formatted for that region. So far I've used this for other regions such as Japan (Region 3?) and Canada. There are on-line PDF instructions for this unit, but the trick just listed above were on a separate sheet of paper that came with my unit. Please comment back if this worked for you. Note that pressing the remote for the region with the disk may turn on the player but not start play automatically, you may have to access the menu to start play.

Answer:	I don't know. I have used it frequently, but all of the DVD's I played on it were the new 16:9 aspect ratio, and that is what my new LG TV handles well. HOWEVER, I expect that your Blu-Ray player will play the 4:3 ratio. Just check your manual for instructions.. Usually the players automatically sense the format of the disc it is playing. I do know that it plays older DVD's not only Blu-ray. Thus, it must be able to adjust the format to 4:3 when necessary.

Answer:	Hi - I don't believe that it does. If it does, I don't think it would come close to the functionality of Roku. We use it to play dvds that we purchased abroad and it works great for that.

Answer:	No the remote doesn't have a subtitle option, but you can usually get subtitles in the setup menu with the DVD.

Answer:	I have Amazon loaded on Roku. When I plugged in the LGBP255, I was given a choice of movies, photo, premium, or settings. I entered premium; all the streaming channels avaible were displayed. I entered Amazon, my line-up appeared, and I was able to play my streaming selection very well.

Answer:	I was able to use the Amazon app initially, but then a firmware upgrade wiped it out. According to a Q&A for someone with a similar issue on the product page at LG.com:"We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this BluRay player. If this feature is currently not displayed, then it would be recommended to RE-INITIALIZE the PREMIUM FEATURES. If you continue to have difficulties, then it would be recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot this matter further."I'm not exactly sure what "reinitializing the premium features" entails, but will try it and see.
Question:	Will this product (BP 540) work with a non-HGTV? I would want to connect this to an older television
Answer:	Suzanne, On the TV in question does it have a yellow, red and white input, if so you can purchase a small conversion box that would allow you to run a HDMI cable to the conversion box then from the conversion box you can run 3 RCA cables, the Yellow(Video) & Red/White(Left & Right Audio) to the TV. Question:	What Blue-Ray & DVD Region
Answer:	You've already been answered, however if region is a problem you can always remove it (assuming you legally own the disc). There are many apps that do this on a PC (assuming you have a bluray reader or burner on that pc). AnyDVD HD (slysoft), DVDFab etc...Aimersoft has one, winxdvd has one etc. Their apps allow an app like multiavchd to rip the data to an MKV or AVI etc (or even just copy the disc to a blank without protection after), then copy that file to a flash drive and play on your REGION LOCKED player via it's usb port :) Problem solved no matter where or who you are. There are far more than I listed here for removal, and multiavchd is free from deanbg (though you should donate to his cause as the software is AWESOME and still getting updated). There is also huge forum support you can find online for this app. I'm not endorsing any of the removal products just giving you a few to look up, find more on your own. Google AACS BD+ removal and you'll find tons of apps I'd guess. Or try simply bluray protection removal for your search and you'll get what you want. There are probably a few dozen that do this removal (probably 50 apps), maybe a few free ones even. Many of these companies have an app that does removal & the job of ripping it after (thus not needing multiavchd). Price for convenience of course varies ;) I could probably dig up a region free hack for the player but it's kind of useless for me and Amazon would probably delete this post for that being included :) Of course that doesn't stop you from doing that yourself...LOL. It just means whatever problem it had was repaired.. give it a try and see if you find what you like. And they have free shipping sometimes and half price on some items
