This number corresponds to the region where you are located, i.e. Region 1 covers the United States, Canada, U.S. territories, and Bermuda. Additionally, the DVD's will have a number on the DVD case or Disc that will identify what region they are. If it matches with the player, then you are good to go. Answer:	This player comes with an enclosed sheet labelled "LG Hardware Modified", which gives you detailed instructions for changing Blu-Ray zones. IGNORE THIS SHEET!!! The instructions tell you to "Make sure that the QUICK START mode of the unit is set to OFF from the setup menu!" Then it tells you to: "Press Standby/On to turn OFF the unit." There is no such "mode" to be found anywhere in the setup menu. Nor is there any button on the remote control labelled "Standby/On". Most importantly, DO NOT mess with the Setup Menu to try to select Player Regions! I tried that and got nowhere. As previously explained by another user, ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS THIS: MAKE SURE THE PLAYER IS CONNECTED TO POWER. OPEN THE DISC TRAY ("OPEN/CLOSE" BUTTON) AND INSERT YOUR BR DISC. TURN OFF THE POWER (TOP RED BUTTON ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE REMOTE). ON THE REMOTE CONTROL, PRESS (1) FOR REGION A. PRESS (2) FOR REGION B. PRESS (3) FOR REGION C. There may be a way to select zones within the setup menu, but i could not get it to work using the remote control.

Answer:	You need a High Speed 18Gbps HDMI 2.0 Cable to connect a 4K bluray device to other 4K bluray device. Anything less then HDMI 2.0 Cable will not pass the 4K signal. I have a surround sound system that has 4K passthrough but it didn't passthrough the HDR signal, With a HDMI 2.0 cable directly to my TV it worked and TV played 4k HDR signal. My solution to use the surround sound plus get a 4K HDR picture on the TV was to use a HDMI 4k HDR splitter to feed both the surround sound and the TV.

Answer:	Not sure what kind of TV or surround sound you have. But if it's not blue tooth, you'll have to run separate Coax Cables. Those are the white and Red for sound. Yellow is video. You may need to run a receiver to run multiple auxiliary units. Tv. Dvd, XBox ect.

Answer:	I too experienced this problem (as well as other issues) and pressing the STOP, HOME, and TOP MENU buttons DID NOT unlock the unit!!! this should not be occurring on a newer model.

Answer:	I'd like to hear from Sony on this. My (previous model) BDPS580 had the child lock issue and a buffering problem. After constant buffering problems with Netflix etc, we bought a roku which NEVER buffers. We use the Sony only for BluRay playback. Re the child lock issue, after many days and hours of we give up. It's horrible. We downloaded a firmware update. It hung up on install and now it will not reload because it thinks it's complete. So the machine constantly displays the flashing goodbye message "see you" and does not consistently open, close, turn on or off. We do the various reset procedures "home-return-top menu" or unplug and replug, or hold the power button for 10 seconds, and then it sometimes responds. Once, twice. Then dies again. We turned off the quick start feature, tried to update the firmware again, many times, and it won't update because it thinks it doesn't need it. To be clear, it NEEDS something. Horrible machine.

Answer:	I cannot really answer your question as I do not use plex or emby and know only what I have read. The device works fine on a wi-fi network and It shows up as a media player on my Windows network, but that's about it. I might be able to do something with it if I installed plex or emby on the PC, though you may need to get an app for the player as well. However, as I observed in my review, there seems to be a memory leak when using streaming apps that requires a periodic reboot, so I would not buy this player again.

Answer:	Without the remote the only thing you can do with the player is turn it off and on and open and close the tray. To navigate the menu, pause, rewind etc. you will need the remote.

Answer:	YES. HDMI output is both video and sound, and HDMI is in fact digital. My digital receiver has HDMI inputs, so I can play digital sound directly, with all of the surround modes supported. This unit does not appear to have TOSLINK or digital coax outputs, and no analog outputs, but these are old standards that are giving way to pure HDMI. The real question you need to ask is: does your RECEIVER have an HDMI input? If it does, you should be all set. BTW you can check out manuals online to find answers like this.

Answer:	I have installed close to 100 blu-ray players for my work. Many of them LGs in the past. I got 4 of this model for a job. 1 week later the client calls me back to say they lose signal, lock up and very poor streaming quality. Not a wifi issue. Replaced all 4 with Roku3. Never a problem again. Last time I use LG.
