I have a 12 camera (16 channel) security system that uses BNC cables with 12v power cable like these. I bought 4 of these cables and 3 new cameras. The 4th cable is to replace a damaged cable already installed. I took 3 cables out of the package so far and only 1 works. The picture quality is so bad on the one that works I am going to replace it! There are lines and rainbows across the screen and the video flickers. Often times the video goes blank for several seconds before coming back on. When I reconnect this same camera with a cable I MADE MYSELF it works perfectly! SO, I opened up 2 more cables to test them and they don't work period! I didn't even bother to take the 4th cable out of the package. I'm sending all 4 of these back.
I don't know how AMAZON does their math on these reviews. I just glanced at the first 6 reviews and 4 of those 6 are ONE STAR!!! How do they have a 4.4 out of 5 star rating if they are getting four 1 star reviews out of every 6? Now it's going to be FIVE 1 star reviews out of 7.

Q: Video Loss appears where the image from my camera should be displaying on my DVR?
A: 1.Check the extension cable (power and video) is securely connected to the camera.
2.Check the video output from the camera is securely connected to a video input channel on the DVR.
3.Check the power from the camera is securely connected to a power supply.
4. The camera mode do not match your DVR.there is 2 ways to setup .
Press OSD Joystick “DOWN” 5 seconds,if still no picture come, try to press “LEFT” “RIGHT””UP” for 5 second, till the signal matching your DVR.
Make sure the signal of your DVR, Use OSD Joystick to change the mode of the camera according to your DVRs video Mode.

| Answer: | It will work with various third-party brands of cameras that support TVI, CVI and other HD standards. I've been purchasing different third-party cameras and trying them with the DVR, because the bundled cameras with the system are plastic and cheap. There are a number of 2MB 1080p TVI cameras on Amazon that you can use - so far I've tested three different models and they all work -- some may need some slight configuration changes. I have also tested a 4MP TVI camera and it works as well but I am not sure the DVR will record more than 1080p so a higher res camera may not store any higher res images -- still testing. Basically, there's very little aftermarket support for this unit and I'm slowly writing my own manual trying to figure out how it works. |
