Answer:	There is an option to define scheduled recording per day. I am not sure if it is related to motion detection (might be, I never tested it). Check with customer support, they are responsive.

Question:	If your camera is recording 24/7 to the nvr, what is the microsd card recording--just the motion events
Answer:	While the NVR is recording, the microSD will not be needed, however, during playback of events only the cameras with microSD (or battery powered) will be able to fast forward through video (2x-16x). This may not seem like a big deal, but when you need to find an event, it's a HUGE timesaver.
Question:	how do you install it
Answer:	Physically speaking, the camera should be mounted to a solid surface. That surface can be vertical or horizontal. Technically speaking, you will need to have CAT5E or CAT6 ethernet installed for all wired versions of IP cameras. This isn't necessarily an easy task if you want it done properly. This version has an RJ45 connection, A/C power adapter connection, and a reset button. As for my installation, I ran wires from a 16-port Power over Ethernet switch located next to my Internet router in the basement inside the channel of the main steel support beam, then to each of the four corners of my home. I then carefully pulled a portion of the siding away from the exterior wall to drill a hole then fished each wire through that hole and then behind the outside channel/corner of the siding up to the 2nd floor. I then mounted each camera on the soffit using 8-star wood screws. This approach helped me to eliminate the need to hire someone to fish wires through my walls, which isn't cheap! You also need the know-how and tools to terminate the ends of each network cable run. As for me, I am a huge fan of EZ-RJ45 connectors. Platinum Connect CAT5e connectors (100 pack) have a wiring diagram printed on the side of the plastic container, but essentially I use the 568B wire organizaton pattern (with the release tab of the clear plastic connector facing downward, then Orange/White, Orange, Green/White, Blue, Blue/White, Green, Brown/White, Brown). I should mention that if you are able to get your wiring through the walls from wherever your central networking termination point might be (mine being the basement) and can pull them through the attic, you could drill a 1/4 hole to pull the networking cable through vs. the approach I took. I am also exploring the use of powerline network adapters, which depending on the configuration of your home, could be a better option. I have yet to try the wireless version of IP cameras simply because I am skeptical they will likely experience jitter, frame-freezes, or poor-quality in general. I currently have 6 of these cameras and love them! The perform excellent both during the day and evening - with or without lighting/illumination from other sources (porch lights, the moon). As for my recording setup, I do have Blueiris, but have recently abandoned it due to very high CPU resource utilization and the persistent solution pitched to those who have cameras to reduce the FPS for their cameras to 15 or less. This, in my book, is not an acceptable solution given that 5MP cameras - this one in particular - delivers exceptional performance and quality. For example, I have the settings of all of my cameras as high as they can go and using Reolink's windows software client my 4th generation Intel i3 barely reaches 25% utilization. In stark contrast, Blueiris (a CPU hog) was persistently brought to its knees! Last but not least, unlike Blueiris which records in a proprietary BVR file format, the Reolink client software records in the MP4, a universally standardized file format. A for saving recordings, I have a 4TB WD Purple 3.5" HDD, which works like a charm! Nevertheless, I wish you the best of luck with your project.

would it work with hikvision pc software ivms

Answer:

The standard answer is: "It depends (on a lot of things)". My experience is this: The cameras were installed in the Horse Barn about 100 yards from the house. The barn has a WiFi "range extender" and it's own WiFi ID name. But the cameras were initially turned on in the house and they used and remembered the ID of the router in the house. After installing the cameras in the barn (all steel walls) the cameras worked but dropped out and would sometimes need to be powered down and up again. I later realized the cameras were using the router in the house which is far away and behind several steel walls. After realizing that the barn "Range Extender" was not being used, I change the system so both have the same Name/WiFi ID. Now the reception is SOLID. Fast, no drop outs, no problems at all. The cameras are still behind some steel walls in the barn and must now communicate to the range extender/router in one of the rooms and it does so without any problems at all. The distance is about 30 feet with lots of steel. I have been very impressed how well it works now and even more impressed that it worked at all when communicating with the router in the house given the distance and the steel barn walls. Just make sure the router that is being used during the initial power up of the cameras is the same as the one you will be using once it is installed. One "trick" you might want to keep in mind was discovered when I had the wrong ID name at the barn. A 50 ohm cable can be used to transport the camera signal through walls or other objects that block the Radio Frequency (RF) WiFi signal. Just cut the outer shielding so that the inner conductor is 1.25 inches long and exposed. Do this on both ends. Tape or tie wrap one end to the camera antenna and the other end (on the other side of the obstruction) will radiate and be nearly as if the camera is on the other side of the obstruction. But it is VERY likely it will work fine without this trick. The 4 cameras have been working flawlessly for about a month now.

Question:	I can't get my camera to connect to my wireless wifi, anyone have tips? My router is not in the same room as the camera, is that the problem
Answer:	The IPCAMHD82 is compatible with 2.4GZ wireless only. I suggest you configure it to ethernet direct to router first. Skip the wireless install for now. Once connected to enet , make sure it is functional. Go to Settings, Network and re add the 2.4gz wireless network. erase and read the network password. Apply these settings. Then wait 3-5minutes and hopefully the wireless network will connect. Then remove the enet cable.
Question:	Can I login to my wifi from the camera if I have to login through a splash screen? My internet needs a username and password entered through a browser
Answer:	You can login directly through the SereneViewer App but will still require your WIfi or the password of your Internet router/modem.
Question:	Does it work with 5.4ghz wifi
Answer:	Hi, I'm Martin and I work for Pyleaudio, parent company of SereneLife. No, this unit does not work on 5.4ghz wifi. It will on work on 2.4ghz. If you have other questions, please let me know. You can reach me at [email protected].

Question:	Does this camera have live audio when you watch on your phone
Answer:	Dear customer, our IP camera default setting: User Name: admin, no password

Answer:	I was able to make them to work on a Dahua (Flir/Lorex family), but it took some tweaking with IP addredd and user management. In short: YES.
