Answer:	We use the Synology NAS units with their free Surveillance app. All browser managed. Has phone app as well. A NAS unit and huge drive can be put together for well under $500 and beats any DVR out there for bang for the buck. Also the Synology enclosures come with 2 included IP camera connectivity licenses. You can buy more (up to like 10-16 cams per NAS unit) as separate licenses for like $50 each. But if you just need 1-2 cams to record then those licenses are included.

Answer:	Short answer, Yes. Long answer. Absolutely positively yes. You can even use a POE Injector. It does however beg the question as to why you would have thought that it won't work. The systems NVR regardless of how many POE ports it has on it can support up to 32 cameras. IE: if you have 20 cameras and a 4 port NVR, you will need 16 more POE injectors or 16 more ports on an POE switch or any combination that equals 16.

If you have to connect in this way because of the inconvenience to hook multiple wires in the scenes like between two buildings, please make sure do not add more than three cameras into the POE switch and then attach the switch into the PoE port on the NVR. The cover is water-resistant and not perfectly waterproof, however, so it is best to place the bed somewhere where it will not be exposed to direct rainfall or where puddles may form. If the mattress does get wet, you will want to remove it from the cover and air dry it completely before covering it back up, as otherwise the interior may develop mold or mildew.
