Answer:	I just received the Sunrise Clock and it IS possible to turn the time display all the way off. It has NORMAL, DIM and OFF settings. It is controlled by a button on the right side of the clock. When all the lights are in the OFF position you might think the unit is not plugged in. That is how completely, 100% dark it gets.

Answer:	I have the same problem. The clock worked fine for about 2 months. Then the display went off. Reconnect the power cord would light up the display. But it went off in 20 sec. It comes back when I touch it, but will go off again in 20 sec. Following the Common Trouble Shooting Q&A, double press the "Down" button does NOT fix the problem. Answer:	Sadly, the one disappointment in this clock is that although there are two alarm options, they both have to be set to the same MODE. (To select the wake up mode, slide the “Alarm Mode Switch“ to your desired position: a) “BUZZ“ for sound b) “VIB“ for bed shaker c) “VIB/ BUZZ“ for both sound and bed shaker NOTE: once the wake up mode is chosen, this will apply to both alarms.) We feel that being able to have the vibrating as an initial wake up and a loud buzz as the second, would be very useful, but not possible on this model.

He actually doesn't put the 'shaker' part under his pillow or mattress....he lets it dangle down the nightstand.
