Question:	I give up. it says "white/ivory/light almond". what color is the actual switch itself? i gather that it comers with an extra bezel
Answer:	I inquired as to the part numbers and availability of replacement paddle faces for other colors. As of mid-March 2017, they apparently are only available via electrical supply distributors, but are supposed to become available via retail channels (including Amazon) "very soon". I was told that the part number and colors are as follows: FOR DIMMERS: White (DDKIT-00W), Ivory (DDKIT-00I), Light Almond (DDKIT-00T), Gray (DDKIT-00G), Black (DDKIT-00E), and Brown (DDKIT-00B); FOR SWITCHES: White (DDKIT-0SW), Ivory (DDKIT-0SI), Light Almond (DDKIT-0ST), Gray (DDKIT-0SG), Black (DDKIT-0SE), and Brown (DDKIT-0SB).

Answer:	I’m using OpenHAB running on a Raspberry Pi with a Z-Wave dongle and have successfully integrated with both Alexa and HomeKit. For HomeKit integration to work with OpenHAB, I believe you also need an AppleTV to act as the HomeKit hub.
Question:	Is there any lag between the switch and canopy module
Answer:	There is something like a 700ms delay as standard since it is a scene switch (multiple presses activate scenes). You can change a parameter to make it near instantaneous though.

Answer:	It has speed and dim function switches on the left side of each button.
Question:	Can you use the fan switch for a light too? I have a bunch of single gang but double light switches that control two lights, wld like to smarten them
Answer:	This switch is intended to control both the light and fan of a ceiling fan. It probably could be used to control just a light by putting the module that is normally installed in the fan housing in a light fixture. But there is a much simpler solution if you are looking to just control a light. Inovelli makes a light only switch that can be installed in place of an existing switch. That is a less expensive and more appropriate solution.

Answer:	I did not find instructions on how to transfer from an earlier Vera device with the Vera Plus, but I was able to find instruction on the web. The process is fairly straight forward, but it did not transfer device name (in most cases) or scenes; these all had to be recreated manually. Also, some z-wave devices had be removed and from the network then re-added to be configured correctly. It took me about 8 hours to transfer my small system to the new Vera Plus.
Question:	Does this need to have any kind of web account or outside cloud access to setup, run or otherwise operate like Wink
Answer:	Just to clarify a few things here, you do need to register the controller initially via the web to activate it and update the firmware. Once that is done, you don't ever have to connect it to the internet again but some services will not function. All of the logic is in the VeraPlus itself but there are devices like Nest that are a cloud to cloud connection that won't work. We automatically back your controller nightly to our servers as a safeguard; those backups, images from cameras, logs... will not be backed up or saved in the cloud for you. The time in synced regularly from net and will get out of sync over time if not connected so scenes based on time of day will not execute properly. If all of the logic is sensor based or activated by a user, you do not ever have to have an internet connection once the controller is registered. Question:	What does double clicking do? For me it turns on the green led. Double clicking again turns it off. No idea what that means though
Answer:	If your controller recognizes the double-click, then it would do whatever you defined the action to do. However, my controller only recognizes a single click and a long press. It appears that many controller manufacturers do not implement all of the features offered by devices, so it would depend on what controller (or hub) that you have.

Question:	Can I install white only led strips with this? Have 12vdc transformer, 60watt maximum output. Only two wires coming off the transformer to the leds
Answer:	You can run a single color only LED strip. Voltage is dependent on the need of the LED strips. Some strips require 12v, others 24v. In my particular case, I'm controlling 24v Black Light LED strips (so white only will also work). Samsung Smart Thing Hub for managing Z wave connectivity. The majority of my z-wave devices are Zooz, they're very good quality, support is great and they maintain steady connectivity for control.

Answer:	I can’t remember the difference but I got the zw1002 and the RGBgenie RGBW Touch Panel Controller and Dimmer with Built-in Repeater, Z-Wave Plus, 3 Scene, In-Wall (ZW-3003) to control it. You will also need zw2001 to connect it wireless.

Question:	Will this operate my standard 3 speed pull chain fan at 4 distinct speeds? I've never seen a 4 speed pull chain fan
Answer:	I tried this on mine and while it worked, my motor made a lot of noise on full speed, so I switched it back to the default 3 speed. I have no idea if that was just my low quality fan, or it was over powered, or what.
Question:	I have google home, do I need to purchase anything else to connect with mobile phone
Answer:	As others have state you will need a z-wave controller to be able to do any kind of remote functions (mobile phone or voice control through Google Home). I have mine connected to a Samsung SmartThings hub with a custom device handler that allows me to have additional customization features available (change RGB LEDs on the switch, assign additional functions to multi-tap). These features are also accessible from a Homeseer hub and a few others, but my personal experience is with SmartThings and it works great! I would not recommend Wink with this switch as you will not get the full features out of it (Wink does not allow for custom device handlers, so if it does not have native support it may only see it as a generic z-wave switch or may not find it at all).
Question:	I have a ring security system, will this work with that and an echo show
Answer:	I was able to connect a Levaton z-wave dimmer to my Ring security hub (the one that comes standard) and control it with Alexa. I'd like to know if this fan control would work with a 300 watt 2-speed QuietCool CL-3100 whole house fan.
Question:	Does this switch turn an existing fan to a smart fan or must you buy a new fan to work with it
Answer:	This switch worked with my existing fan. The fan was controlled by a regular speed switch, and I wanted to be able to get it controlled by Alexa and my Samsung SmartThings hub. The smart switches from GE and Honeywell, for some reason did not get detected by the SmartThings hub. But this one worked great! Again, the fan should already be controlled through the wall switch (i.e. it has it’s own hot wire).

Answer:	I have a Homeseer hub and the device is recognized automatically upon inclusion. It has 3 notifications per button - press, press/hold, and release. I created Homeseer events to toggle lights on/off on the press notification for each button. I haven't delved into the press/hold or release notifications yet.

Answer:	It's z-wave and should work with a z-wave network

Answer:	I have the 1-Button version, and it does work with Hubitat. I am using the controller with a custom driver by @krlaframboise. The driver has fingerprints for both versions. it's been awhile since i installed the controller, and with the recent Hubitat firmware updates, it may no longer need custom drivers. I just don't want to touch the system.

Answer:	That model of Liftmaster is not on the list of models that do NOT work with the GD00Z, so it should yes. Just make sure to have the very latest update for your homeseer, they just finished completing the testing with it on 10/5. Answer:	Yes! It worked flawlessly, I just installed it this past weekend (oct 25, 2014) Was worried I was going to need to install some lab version, but it showed up as a garage door opener, it reports open/closed, it can be activated as the app. I haven't set any special rules for it as I am still new to SmartThings, but based on its behaviors so far, it's rock solid. Also the device was pretty easy to install. The unit comes as 2 parts, a tilt sensor, and a box (thats in the photo) that mounts up near the opener itself. The tilt sensor runs on batteries, the unit needs to be plugged in, so that could be a problem if you dont have an available power outlet near the garage door opener. It also does not interrupt or affect the normal open close action of your buttons or remotes.

Answer:	As a user on question 1 I haven’t had to change it. On question 2 do your research I’m an electrician and have played around with Bosch and DSC and I choose to go with DSC, the way I have mine setup is all security points go to the alarm system then the alarm system can send commands to turn on lights but it doesn’t receive commands from Vera. DSC monitors all security points and drives all the arm/disarm keypads then Vera only controls lights and heating. The only exception is the garage door and I have that setup where Vera controls the door and momentarily disarms that one point on my security system.
Question:	I have no internet access. Will VeraSecure attach directly to my laptop network connector for set-up and configuration purposes
Answer:	It does need network access, what you can do is to get an internet switch which you can split your internet between your verasecure and laptop, this should work
