Answer:	The individual Wire in the Cat 6 cable is solid wire

Answer:	It's been a while since we installed this, I believe the individual internal wires are solid

Answer:	When I ordered my box in August it was cat6. Said so on the box and the wires were marked as such. However I do not recall the description stating cat 5. I am sure if you ordered it and it was wrong Amazon would allow free shipping for the return. One thing to be mindful is that the order may not come with the crimped and ends (mine did not). Nevertheless when I called Amazon to complain they refunded me 20 bucks. Btw my Ethernet run in buried conduit spanned about 110 ft. No issues; everything works great.

Answer:	It comes with a plastic base that the sending unit mounts to. The base has several holes drilled into it for several mounting positions. But no pole or anything comes with it to get it up high or anything. The base is only a couple of inches tall.

Answer:	I have mine mounted on a mast 14 feet off the ground above a 9 foot tall building and 200 ft from the base linking through trees, metal roof and siding, and it works fine.

Question:	does it have barometric pressure
Answer:	No, there is no barometer. The wind reading is not instantaneous and it seems to be an average over a short period of time so gusts are not the right speed. If you use the app you will see that everything is averaged out over time periods which is to save storage and data transmission rates. All these deficiencies are acceptable for home use but not for a "true" weather station which are easily 10 times or more the cost.
Question:	Can it calculate wind chill
Answer:	I guess you could call it wind chill, there is a “feels like” number.
Question:	What kind of batteries do the sensors use? How long do they last in freezing temperatures
Answer:	Per the manual, Good fresh batteries are important for best performance in your sensors and as backup in your station. Batteries with an expiration date of 2020, were manufactured in 2010. We recommend batteries with an expiration date no more than 6 years in advance of the current year for best performance. A minimum voltage of 1.48 v per battery is required for best performance. Lithium batteries may be used in outdoor sensors. Alkaline batteries for the station. There is no listing of life of battery in cold or freezing temperatures. It would depend on the condition of the battery.
Question:	Do you have to hook this up to a "smart"phone thing/ap in order to get the correct wind speed or will it work on it's own? own
Answer:	No smart phone involved. The wind speed gizmo outside talks from the outside sensor to the base inside.

Answer:	I purchased this cable in November of 2012. While most of the cable I have buried sections of the run are not. It may not always be exposed to direct sunlight but it is exposed. I would have to say yes to your question. It is uv resistant. the exposed sections are not brittle or faded. It has held up great for the 1 and 1/2 years I've had it.

Answer:	We used only rough measurements--bending the tape measure around corners and rounding wall measurements--but the cable reached the device for which we'd measured 150 FEET, with a few feet (maybe 3 or 4?) left over. I'd rely on what the posting says, and if memory serves, it was 150 FEET.

Answer:	Not days, average wind speed up to 180 minutes. The default is to record based on 30 minute intervals.

Question:	What is the maximum wind speed that the anemometer can handle
Answer:	Yes , you can change the batteries yourself but I found it to be somewhat irritating replacing the standard batteries (app. twice a year). I installed the unit rather high (attached to chimney) to make sure I was getting accurate wind speeds I also tried using rechargeable batteries but they seemed to discharge rather quickly (app every 4 months). I came up with the idea to keep the rechargeable batteries but connect a small 5 volt solar panel. This setup works perfect. That was app 2 years ago and I haven't replaced a battery yet. Hopefully this helps.

Question:	Does the acurite 06014 work with a 01036a1 display? my current exterior weather sensor goes through batteries in a week
Answer:	It only updates every 18 seconds. That's just crazy. Do you know how often the wind changes in 18 seconds ? So the accuracy is a totally zero !! You may step out your door into 30 mile an hour winds but your display shows only 6 miles an hour. Other than that, yep it displays the wind speed albeit from who knows when.
Question:	Can I pair this with Alexa
Answer:	Riley, we have the sensor about 40 feet away from the receiver. My husband mounted the sensor on top of an 8 foot board at the edge of the deck which is 7 feet above the ground to get wind speed, too. It works very well.

Answer:	Yes, but not as bad as some other units. 5-6 degrees versus 20 degrees.
Question:	Does this need to be mounted on a pole
Answer:	It is very easy. The sensor needs to be 5ft off the ground minimum, in an open area away from buildings and roads (anything that will interfere with wind flow and temperature). We mounted ours on a 6ft pole in our backyard and it works great. Also keep in mind how shade can affect temperature readings. Basically the further away from shade, ground, buildings, and roads is the way to go. And no roof mounts because shingles absorb heat. The description of the product gives you the diameter of an acceptable "pole". Higher the better. The sensor has a lock bolt that allows you to mount it on any pvc, steel, aluminum, or iron pole to the specified diameter. The instruction booklet of this product goes into great detail of where and how to mount the sensor. Again, very easy. This was a gift to my meteorology major wife, and she loves it. Answer:	If you are able to mount the SKY above nearby objects you will get a better wind fetch. However, it's important to keep the mount and mast sturdy, free from vibrations as any motion will be detected as rain by the haptic sensor which can become pronounced in strong winds on unstable mounts.

Answer:	Yes the station kit includes a solar panel accessory! The solar panel's rechargeable battery should last approximately 5 years. On a full charge, the battery in the solar panel will provide power to the SKY unit for about 30 days in full overcast conditions. AA batteries are not supposed to be used in tandem with the solar panel accessory. SKY can use 8 AA batteries or the solar panel accessory. The AIR unit requires 4 AA batteries.

Answer:	It is not wireless. But you can buy a wireless device from there website but it is expensive.

Answer:	You have to plug the USB into your computer if you want to update actively online, and you can purchase as many monitors as you want. If you didn't want to have to plug it into your computer, you'd have to get the Bridge unit off the Acurite website to upload directly through your router.
Question:	Does the 01036 give the high and low temperatures of the day
Answer:	Yes, it does. For us, the high temperature is overstated because the unit is in an open, unshaded area, and we live in a warm climate. I don't like the fact that the rain, wind and temperature gauges are all in one unit, because for rain and wind, the unit needs to be in the open, but that means the temperature ends up showing too hot because it's in the sun. Right now it's 69, per my old gauge that's in the shade, and per my phone app and the radio, but the AcuRite says it's 88, which is far off.
Question:	Can I add the bridge unit to this unit
Answer:	From what I've found, you have to order the bridge unit separately directly from AcuRite. I got this as a gift for someone and it pisses me off that you need an EXTRA piece of equipment to get your info on your computer, tablet or smartphone. AcuRite definitely should have included that tidbit in their info about this product.

Please make sure that you are using standard alkaline batteries from a high-quality brand in both the display unit and the outdoor sensor, then perform the following reset. Please follow the steps carefully as the order is crucial to the success of the reset. Hard Reset: 1. Bring both the sensor and display units together and power down by removing all batteries from each and/or removing the power cord. 2. Change the A-B-C switch on both units to a new, matching channel. 3. Reinstall the batteries in the outdoor sensor. 4. Reinstall batteries and/or power cord into the display unit. 5. Let the units sit within a couple of feet of each other for approximately 5 minutes or until you see a solid sensor signal. Answer:	No, you can see the min/max values for the day but it does not show the time. It shows the average value for -12, -6, -3--2,-1 on a graph for temp,wind, or pressure.There's an internet reporting add on you can get for $30 that sends data to weather underground . Then you can see historical for years and years back on any type of data. I plan to buy that, but have not yet

Answer:	Brandon. I've had this device for 2 years now. I live in an area where wind gusts can exceed 65mph. AcuRite does not measure momentary wind gusts, but rather the average wind speed at any given time. I was disappointed to learn that this device cannot measure wind velocity gusts. So, if you're looking for a device to measure individual wind gusts, the AcuRite is not going to work for you. As for maximum wind speed (by average), I'm sure this device can reach high double digits-- as an average. Hope this helps. LT

Answer:	yes, it would handle winter weather just fine. Works very well and this is my 2nd. one in 10 yrs. The outdoor unit finally got corroded or something after about 8 yrs and I just replaced the outdoor unit 2 yrs and and works fine with original indoor unit.
