Be sure you get the Assure for August version if you want to use August as the Z-Wave version of the lock does not work with August. If your want both Z-Wave and August, use the august version of the lock and have your smarthome hub control the lock with Z-Wave through the August Connect.

Answer:	The gateway is ZigBee and not Bluetooth as the other person said. You can have the gateway up to 50 feet away from the lock and it will work. No the gateway isn't hardwired to the router.

Answer:	The simple answer is that you can paint anything with the right primer. I really don't see why you couldn't paint this as long as you didn't let the paint bind the thumb mechanism. I would point out that the thumb hold will get a lot of wear & the paint may not last. If you are considering the (separate) keypad, be aware that this would be a much trickier task.

The 5019 kit is a one door 1200lbs Maglock Buzz-in kit for doors that opens in. ​This is for indoor applications. It is mainly used for customers that do not want to physically get up and open the door. With this system, you will be able to let people in by clicking on the wireless RF remote, the VIS-8005. The remote communicates with the wireless receiver, which can program up to 50 remotes, and it has a range of 150 feet.

There are two main features on the receiver that will allow you to program the wireless receiver in two different ways. The default function of the receiver is that when the power is on, the mag lock of your kit is locked and when you press the remote the maglock will unlock temporarily to open the door. The other function that the receiver has is the ON/Off feature. This feature is very similar to a light switch; when you program this option you would press the remote once and the door will unlock and remain unlocked until you press the button again. When you press the remote again, the door will then lock.

This magnetic lock system also brings an exit button that will allow you to exit from the inside of the door. Keep in mind that this exit button does not bring a delay meaning that you would have to press the exit button at the same time that you open the door.

Answer:	The instructions and diagrams are awful. Here’s what you have: 1. plug-in transformer with red (+)and black (-) wires for power. 2. magnet with red and black wires. 3. big switch with green and white wires. 4. remote clicker 5. radio receiver with a plug labeled black (-), red (+), yellow (common), white (normally closed, i.e., normally connected to the common (+), but switched--open and closed--when you click the remote), and blue (normally open, i.e., normally not connected to common power (+), but switched--closed and open--when you click the remote). Here’s what worked for my application: 1. Connect the black power wire to the black wires on the receiver and the magnet. 2. Connect the red power wire to the red receiver wire and the yellow common wire. 3. Connect the red magnet wire to the receiver’s white or blue wire depending on whether you want the power from the receiver to be switched from normally open or normally closed. 4. Connect the green big switch wire to the white receiver wire (for normally closed) or blue wire (for normally open). The red and black wires from the transformer power the receiver all the time. The yellow common wire carries the red power (+) that goes to the white (normally closed) or blue (normally open) wires, which are and controlled by the remote switch. The big switch can either interrupt or tap the white (normally closed) or blue (normally open) wires from the receiver. For example, have all switches closed to provide power to magnet. click remote to switch open white wire, which cuts power to magnet. Or push big white switch to cut power to magnet.
