Answer:	On the unit I have you can't get good volume much beyond about 10 to 15 feet if background noise level is low. This unit does not push out a lot of volume. You might get some boost by putting the audio out (3.5 mm jack) through amplified speakers; just be aware that the overall sound quality on this unit is not really great.

This is my third boombox CD player in the last 30 days. I keep sending them back to Amazon because they are all unplayable junk. I don't know if it's related to the Chinese trade war or if China just forgot how to make a CD player. I'm still looking for a quality (by quality I mean anything that will correctly play CDs) replacement for my last portable stereo which was an awesome Craig Electronics CD Boombox with AM/FM Stereo Radio. Amazon stopped carrying them and replaced the item with this Jensen junk. Still looking . . .
