Answer:	It fit my standard zippo shell...........it is a bit difficult to use compared to a regular soft flame pipe lighter.....as far as lighting your pipe........checkout vector lighters.

Answer:	It's a "clicky" push button. I currently have a sore thumb and can still push it. In my opinion the original flint and wheel might be easier than the button. The flame comes out the side and not the top like the old lighter insert. I bought it for in my hiking stuff. If your friend doesn't have useable thumbs? I'd think they could still use it.

Would it record under clothing (pads)? I don't know for sure, but I'd say probably not. Also, any time I move, the rustling of my clothing or anything else that happens to be in my pocket is all you hear - very loudly! I hope this helps!
