Answer:	I haven't tried to. But it's possible if you have it set to the voice activated setting more than likely. I'd assume the battery would die if it was just on full blown record setting the whole time.

Answer:	Hi...The recorder is not always on. To turn it off, press and hold the round Play/Pause button and you will see a countdown on the monitor; 1...2...3, Bye, Bye. Then the monitor goes dark. I haven't set a passcode so to turn it on I press the same button until Welcome appears on the monitor.

Answer:	I think what happens is that the recording is still resident but just ends with the *beep beep* of the battery dying. I've not paid attention lately to it, though.

Question:	Mine won't turn off? I hold down the play/pause button until it shuts down. But as soon as I let off the button it turns back on
Answer:	I'm assuming you have the owner's/operator's manual available. If you are following the instructions correctly for turning off the device, and it doesn't operate as specified in the manual, that would suggest a malfunctioning unit. I've seen some situations where a contact will stay "closed" which would be the equivalent of holding down the power button which might only RESTART the device (would APPEAR to shut off but then start back up). But first check the manual to be sure you're doing the shut-down correctly.

Answer:	How long can it be left on in voice activation mode? Can it be set and left alone for say a week?

Answer:	I can vouch for the Olympus VN-541PC being excellent for ghosts. I haven't tried the VN-7200 for spirits and likely won't. I've got a pretty good collection of other worldly sounds saved from my VN-541, nothing too threatening, in fact a couple of semi-Caspers in the mix.
Question:	Will this play back from device without plugging into a computer
Answer:	The Oly 7200 has no digital output, but it does have a line out. Amazon sells the Sorbent USB Stereo Sound Adapter (AU-EMAC for Mac computers) and that lets you record sound with ease. Mac fidelity is WAY greater than the best fidelity in the 7200.
Question:	Can you label each recording for easy play back
Answer:	I am not 100 percent certain,but it should be. I use Express Scribe and it works perfectly.

Answer:	This great little recorder does not have a Bluetooth function.
Question:	If the battery dies, does it corrupt the recording in progress or any prior recordings
Answer:	Just what is in progress. It will stop, but you can replace them. It will not affect prior recordings.
Question:	Any recommendations for a lav mic short cord no battery required
Answer:	You do not need a battery powered mic. I just tested one of my Giant Squid Audio Lab Omnidirectional Microphones and it worked fine. Question:	Several people commented on the WS 853 having low playback volume. Is the volume low only with speakers, or is it the same with earphones/earbuds
Answer:	I would say the small speaker playback volume does not get "loud". I recorded my voice and playback volume sounded the same. The default value is 30 (highest) and sounded comfortable in a quiet room by myself - though turned down to 20 and it still sounds fine. In a noisy area though, you will want to use headphones to carefully review the audio (or hold the speaker up to your ear instead of arms length away). Do not expect to the audio playback to "fill a room".UPDATE: I just noticed the "Diction" recording scene mode is definitely quieter! I was test recording in the various "Scenes" modes, and when I played the "Diction" one back on my computer it was CONSIDERABLY quieter. I would suggest sticking with the "Meeting" mode (the default) or "Off". For diction mode you probably need to speak very closely to the microphone or us an external microphone.NOTE: Set the "Record Level" to "High" as well

Answer:	Not sure, but presume that as long as GPS compatibility exists and Italy and Europe maps are installed it should workMust ensure Satellite ready and compatible
Question:	How do you make it voice activated when recording
Answer:	I THINK they're the same unit. It's just that the "base" model comes with the latest map revision ... and no more. When the maps are revised ( updated ) you'd be notified that a revision is available but you'd need to buy the revision to download and install it in your unit. The alternative, "with lifetime maps" purchase costs a little more, but subsequent updates are provided at no further charge for the unit's "lifetime" (or for yours). I think the latter was a better buy and so that's what I chose.Happy trails!
Question:	I need a wall charger for the wohlman digital recorder 16 gb
Answer:	Yes, It comes with a suction cup mount, and a short USB charging cord. But an Iphone charger will also work if it's got the mini USB plug. The mount worked great as you can leave it on the window and clip/unclip the unit from it with ease. It also come with the car power cord.
Question:	Just received this today and am trying to set up. It seems to be stuck on the lock position. How do I get it off lock
Answer:	Mine included the "traffic avoidance and detour recommendations" feature. Not sure why some would state that it wasn't included. Perhaps they weren't using the required power cord. This feature requires the car adapter power cord that is included with the unit for the feature to work. If you try to use a different power cord, the feature is disabled.
