Which means if you buy it because of 5W output you must use battery pack. However battery pack does not last long. It is only 700mAh. Radio consumes 42mA on standby. So about 16 hours standby time if you don’t transmit. Charding time on the other hand is 12 hours. Make your own conclusions. |

| Answer: | you can set the channel as far as others go you just have to find a channel that's open it has 22 so its not hard to do.thats what I do when hunting and there are a bunch of others with radios it works out fine. |

| Answer: | A GMRS license is only needed when you use over 2 watts of power. This radio can put out up to 0.13 watts of power, so it is well within the 2 watt limit for unlicensed usage in the USA. If you do decide to get a much more powerful radio, with an output of > 2 watts, then you would get a license (as I also have) that costs $70 for 10 years. ($7/year). |
