Answer:	I am a maritime pilot and I have used it on board a vessel. It's function is good and reliable at sea. But I am notsure its fuction if you use it in the mountain for hunting because there is no obstruction at sea whereas many obstruction in the mountain. Its transmitting output is 3 watt. I am very sorry to make you fully satisaied.

I think the scope of this portable radio is about 10 miles.

Answer:	Simple answer is yes. The room where I installed my fan was actually a converted attic space where the clearance was 7'-6". Hunter provides 2 sections of connector pipe; one for normal ceilings and one for less clearance. I used the shorter pipe. Perfect clearance. You should have no problems.

Answer:	Both category A and D radios can send and receive digitally encoded distress calls on channel 70, which is reserved exclusively for digital communications. Category A radios, however have two separate receivers, with one constantly tuned to channel 70. Category A radios are therefore more flexible and capable of delivering advanced communication capabilities.With the press of a button, all DSC equipped VHF radios can send a distress call in digital form on channel 70. Answer:	These transmit at only 1 Watt, so they really don't go very far. If both people were standing on tall hills & no obstructions between them, it might go 12 miles. In town you would get maybe half a mile with all the obstructions like houses, cars, trees, power lines, etc.

Answer:	I'm really not sure. The red light is on whenever the radio is placed in any kind of lighted area. It does not go of when the radio is fully charged.
