User questions & answers

Question: will this work with a cobra 129 ltd cb right out of the box or are modifications needed
Answer: Very nice unit for the money. It has a doubling effect but not harmonizing effect.
Question: is power mic
Answer: I would go XLR to XLR It’s easier to find a cable that has xlr on both ends. Signal is better.
Question: or 5 pin
Answer: You can't use the VE-1 without power. You need to us either a BOSS PSA-120S Power Supply or 4 x AA dry alkaline batteries. There is not a battery meter indicator for the VE-1.
Question: Can anyone tell me what the average number that they keep the Mic turned too
Answer: There's one knob that changes exactly that; the reverb dry/wet effect. The other knob changes the level of the original signal (vocal) versus the harmonic effect produced. There's a level knob on the back that controls the output level from the pedal. I've had to turn this down quite a bit as the signal it puts out can be pretty hot.

User questions & answers

Question: The description says chrome. The picture shows black. Which is it
Answer: It has a volume control, so yeah, it could lower it but it's really designed to boost it. If your audio is just too loud with a regular hand mike, someone may have cut the modulation limiter out of your radio. You can take it to a shop and have them repair it.
Question: Is this microphone made by the turner company
Answer: Depending what kind of midland radio you have it will work as long as it has the same number of pins as the mic. Some midland radios require more pins them this Mic if yours has this problem they do make adapters and there fairly cheap. If you buy this adapter then you can use this mic regardless. Remember most the bad reviews for this mic are operator related. You do have to have some common sense and CB knowledge to use correctly and get good results.
Question: what is the difference between the RK564p and the 56b
Answer: I looked up the Galaxy base station and yes it does appear that it should work. It has the basic 4 pin mic connection. Not sure that you would need a powered mic tho since the base station does have a variable microphone gain. Maybe if you are a soft spoken person. See if you get a few audio reports from others over the air. If they say you are difficult to hear with the mic gain all the up, then yes, look at a powered mic of some sort. Just keep in mind that this microphone has a very sensitive volume control. A little bit goes a long ways. Hope this helps.
Question: Will this work with a uniden pro520xl cb
Answer: No

User questions & answers

Question: Does any amplitude/signal come from the mic when i have the dial set to zero
Answer: It is a knock-off, not the real deal.
Question: How long is the cord
Answer: It's different from the original.
Question: does this increase the modulation on a uniden pro520xl or is it just as good to use the stock mic
Answer: Back when I drove a Tractor Trailer, (OTR circa 1985-1990), I owned the RK-56B mic. I don't know what the '56P difference is but I doubt it's any great difference. I sold my radio and mic way back in '91 or '92 but I recently bought another one, (Cobra 29 NW LTD Classic). This time I bought the "Workman SS56C" (otherwise just called a "Workman 56") at about half the price of the RK-56. I bought the Chrome version of the Workman 56 here: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004SJ0XOM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The Workman 56 and the Road King RK-56 were both around for a long time. I knew drivers who had the Workman 56 and the RK-56 mics together, in their cab. At least 2 or 3 times back when I drove professionally, a hand would ask me to listen to his transmission using the RK-56 first, and then he'd switch to the Workman 56. I'm sure that I was asked to compare the two on more occasions than 2 or 3, (probably much more). I know one thing for sure; I never once remembered hearing any difference between the two mics when the driver transmitted. Sometimes the driver who was testing the two mics was well over 5 or 10 miles away and on the move. In other occasions, the driver testing the mic and myself, were both sitting still in a large truck stop (maybe 1/4 mile apart). Other times, one of the two of us were moving and the other was stopped. "Radio Checks" were very common back then and from what I hear on my radio these days, they still are. There was always a dispute as to which mic was better and even back then, the Workman was half the price of the RK. That's why those hands were testing them. As I said, I've owned both mics and I can say they're both made of the same materials, both have a superior noise suppression system, and both are put together very well. Typically, I would say that if you have the money, buy the RK-56 and if you're on a budget, buy the Workman. But in this case, there's just no difference that I can detect and it just comes down to buying from whomever you prefer to patronize, (both are USA made). I know there are always people who've had a bad experience with one or the other, but I think most of those experiences can be attributed to a production line screw-up that made it past the 10% minimum quality control process. I really believe that the majority of owners of either mic, have had no problems or regrets. FWIW, Rich
Question: Is this microphone compatible with my President Andy Cb radio
Answer: If it's a 4 pin then yes
