6 best motorola antenna

Motorola antennas are essential components used in conjunction with Motorola two-way radios and communication equipment. These antennas play a crucial role in transmitting and receiving radio signals effectively. Here are some key points about Motorola antennas:

  1. Purpose: Motorola antennas are designed to enhance the performance of Motorola two-way radios and communication devices by improving signal transmission and reception. They are crucial for maintaining clear and reliable communication, especially in remote or challenging environments.

  2. Types: Motorola offers a range of antennas designed for different applications and frequencies. Common types of Motorola antennas include whip antennas, stubby antennas, helical antennas, and high-gain antennas. The choice of antenna depends on the specific communication needs and frequency requirements.

  3. Frequency Bands: Motorola antennas are available in various frequency bands, including UHF (Ultra High Frequency) and VHF (Very High Frequency). Different frequencies are suitable for different communication ranges and environments. UHF is often preferred for indoor and urban use, while VHF provides better coverage in open areas.

  4. Gain: Antenna gain is a measure of how much an antenna can amplify signals. High-gain antennas are designed to improve signal strength and range. Motorola offers antennas with different gain levels to match specific communication needs.

  5. Connector Types: Motorola antennas come with various connector types to ensure compatibility with Motorola radios and devices. Common connector types include SMA, BNC, and TNC connectors. It's essential to choose an antenna with the correct connector to ensure a secure and reliable connection.

  6. Mounting Options: Motorola antennas can be mounted in different ways, depending on the intended use. Some antennas are designed for vehicle mounting, while others are suitable for handheld radios or base station setups. Proper mounting ensures optimal performance.

  7. Durability: Motorola antennas are built to withstand the rigors of outdoor and professional use. They are typically designed to be weather-resistant and durable, capable of withstanding exposure to rain, dust, and other environmental conditions.

  8. Range Improvement: Upgrading to a higher-gain Motorola antenna can significantly improve the communication range of Motorola two-way radios. This is particularly useful in situations where longer-distance communication is necessary.

  9. Accessories: Motorola offers various accessories for antennas, including antenna extension cables and adapters, to facilitate the installation and customization of their antennas.

  10. Compliance: It's important to ensure that the chosen Motorola antenna complies with relevant regulatory standards and requirements, especially if it will be used in professional or public safety applications.

In summary, Motorola antennas are critical components for Motorola two-way radios and communication devices, enhancing signal transmission and reception. They come in various types, frequencies, and connector options to meet specific communication needs. Choosing the right antenna and ensuring proper installation can significantly improve the performance of Motorola communication equipment.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work with a Harris XG
Answer: I just don't know I purchased these for my church but it looks like a full size table
Question: Will this work on a digital 800 system
Answer: Yes, these pucks are 2 ½ "
Question: Our supervisors say this antenna will burn out our radios. Has anyone had any experience with this or heard of this happening
Answer: What I ship are 2.5 inch pucks, each weighs Approximately 14.5 grams. Either your scale is off or you are weighing smaller sized home pucks, I find it hard to believe you can play on a standard sized table with pucks that weigh only 5 grams, they would be flying everywhere on a standard or heavy duty table.
Question: Will it work on a XPR
Answer: It fits perfectly in my hand. However, I have very slim hands, so I don't know how someone with larger hands would feel. My husband has large hands, though, and he has never complained.

Question: will this work on a motorola CP
Answer: No, technically it will fit but the CP185 UHF operates between 435-480 MHz. You can use the PMAE4003: https://www.amazon.com/Motorola-PMAE4003-PMAE4003A-Orginal-430-470/dp/B00JG4XLS4/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=PMAE4003&m=A3NARLHEE70E9A&qid=1570119375&s=merchant-items&sr=1-1 Thanks, John AZ Two Way
Question: Will it fit Cp
Answer: I am not sure, I am issued a Motorola XPR 7350e radio and it fits and works great on it. The antennae has the normal (appears to be) 1/4”/6mm? fine (male) threaded end that is common for these radios. It is designed for UHF use (I believe that is the norm as well at least in US). Frequency listed on package is 440-490 MHz, not 449. I carry my radio on my vest and this “stubby” antennae does not poke me when carrying the radio. Several of my friends have also purchased these for their radios. I highly recommend it (if it will work for you). I hope this is helpful, sorry I can’t definitively say yes or no to your question.
Question: Will it work with the 7550e
Answer: Check your frequency - PMAE works with UHF 449-490MHz. On some sites it says it is compatable with the 7550e. You might need PMAE4071 if your frequency is in the 470-527MHz range.
Question: Just as a guess... what % performance reduction will I get using these "stub" antenna versus the regular whip antenna that comes with the radio
Answer: 10-20%
Question: How tall is this antenna
Answer: 3 1/2"

Answer: No, this antenna will not work with a Motorola CP200 radio. CP200 radios operate in either VHF (136 to 174 MHz) or UHF ( 403 to 495 MHz) frequency range, depending on the specific model. This antenna is designed for radios operating in the 800 MHz bandwidth range. For a CP200 you need either Motorola part # HAD9742 or HAD9743 (VHF) or NAE6522 (UHF).
