Answer:	I have used both Audiicity and WavePad by NCH software. Both are free downloads, WavePad has somwhat better documentation/Help and can be upgraded to some pretty serious sofware.

Answer:	The width is 17" X depth 10 3/4" X height 5 3/4" (including air space of circular coasters)

Answer:	Unfortunately, this tape deck model doesn't have the seek function. I've seen Sony tape decks have that feature. Try a Goodwill or a Salvation Army store to purchase a used Sony tape deck. Good Luck Mary.
Question:	Does this unit record stereo (2 channel) MP3s from stereo cassettes, using Audacity as the sound program
Answer:	Windows controls whether you get mono (in "both" channels) or stereo. With the deck connected via USB, open Control Panel, Sound, pick your input, and set Windows to use 44.1kHz sampling 16-bit 2 channels. (USB defaults to 1 channel, but this is where you change it.)

Question:	Once you download mp3 to your computer, can you then burn a CD to use in your car
Answer:	Yes. Depending on the software you use,.... It comes with Audacity and you can also download Audacity online. I already had it so.... Using Audacity to record, it saves as an Audacity file. Again, using Audacity, you can then convert to wav, mp3, or other formats. It does not automatically record to mp3, it records as a digital file, not mp3. So to answer your question, once recorded as a digital file, you can convert to mp3, yes.

Answer:	Audacity is awesome software. I use it on Windows 10 all day. Make sure you get the latest version. It is free, btw.

Answer:	There is apparently not a special software for this device. If you have Audacity or GarageBand on your computer (or download Audacity using the included disc/suggested link) you should be able to plug in this device and record your own MP3's from it.

Answer:	In Dec2020, with my black model, it works with ferric and chrome type tapes, and technically plays metal but sounds a bit “off”. Hard to describe and many average users may not notice this at all, but for a cheap cassette player - this works

Answer:	No, I do not have cleaners. The player eats batteries like popcorn. Batteries only last for 1 to 1-1/2 hours. Have to take the batteries out after a half hour use and put back when ready to use again or the batteries go dead. Not a good buy.

Recording Operation

1. Before recording the music or conversation,please check the bottem of blank cassette tape both side A or B it must have two 'Recording Lip' as shown.

2. Then push O position on teh cassette door to close the cassette door and select your favourite music and program from the radio or from the mic,

adjust the volume level to suitable level or max,press the 'REC' button(in red color) start to record.

3.You can monitor the recording process through your headphone or speaker.

4. Press the 'stop' button to stop the record function.

5. To listen to the recorded programme, you can press the F.BWD button to rewind the tape and press the play button to replay the recorded programme.

6. To prevent your recorded programme from being erased you can take out the recording lip.

Question:	When recording to usb storage with cassette running does pausing recording on usb yield a new track once paused
Answer:	Pressing the "REC" button will result in a new file (closing the previous one). I find it easier to just record the whole cassette in one pass and use Audigy to extract the individual tracks. This also lets me enter the meta data for each track.

Answer:	Mp3 files created from the cassette are 128 Kbps bit rate.
Question:	It is my understanding that the mp3 encoder tops out at 128 kbps. it also is devoid of any flavor of dolby nr. such a pity on both counts

Answer:	When recording a mono player to a your computer, use a mono to mono 3.5mm (1/8") phone cable. This will allow you to record the single audio channel from the cassette recorder to the computer's stereo with the same signal for both the left and right channels. You should also be able to set the recording software to record in mono.

Answer:	Yes. This recorder is NOT THE BEST, BUT CERTAINLY NOT THE WORST. I got it for Taping Music. I am a Musician and Singer and it DOES NOT DO WELL FOR THAT, BUT. For Talking, Yes. It would be good. One tip. Don't hold the Microphone too close to your mouth, It will blur when you record. Hold it a few inches away and it will be fine. Answer:	Not easily, no. The mic jack on this recorder is mono only. So a standard 3.5mm stereo cable won't do the trick. You would need a 3.5mm stereo to 3.5mm mono cable (or adapter). The resulting audio, of course, will be in mono only. Also, the recording head on this cassette recorder is very, very poor. I wanted to record audio for my truck and the quality was just way to low for music. It is really better suited for voice recording.
