Product description

The Fono MC has been designed to be effective easy to use and above all to reproduce music. The Fono MC uses the Linear Systems low noise LSK389 FET in an all discrete input stage where low noise and linearity are vitally important to get the best from an MC cartridge. Because of the high input impedance of FET the loading effects of the amplifier circuit are minuscule and do not affect the performance of the cartridge. A MUSE operational amplifier is used in the RIAA equalization amplifier. Polypropylene capacitors have been used in the signal path and in the RIAA equalization circuits. There is selectable input loading for both resistance and capacitance along with two different gain settings located on the back panel making the Fono MC compatible with most low output MC cartridges. The aesthetic design of the Fono MC was as important as the quality of its electrical capabilities so it benefits from the same aluminum case as the Rega TTPSU and Fono MM amplifier giving it a design which offers a familiar feel and moreover brings it in line with its illustrious bigger brothers. User questions & answers

Question: These are uk products. will the electrical wall plug work in the US? Thx
Answer: I no longer use the Denon; it stopped working after 3 years. The quality just isn't what it used to be when Denon was made in Japan.
Question: What is this? A preamp or amplifier
Answer: I no longer use Denon; I went through two of them, and both stopped working after three years. Denon is no longer made in Japan, and the quality just isn't the same.
Question: Will a mm cartridge work with this model
Answer: AVT-888 comes standard with an IR remote.I use an X10 Powermid IR extender to hide the Denon in AV cabinet. It works very reliably once you locate the IR sensor to place the IR Blaster.I would have preferred if the Denon came with a remote input port rather than to hang an external IR Blaster.

User questions & answers

Question: how much gain dcb does this ouput
Answer: Yes. The Denon X3200W is the lowest 2015 Denon AVR that includes 7.2 main zone pre-outs. Unlike the X4200W, that can expand from 7CH --> 9CH using an external amp, the X3200W is capped at a maximum of 7CH processing. For more information on this model ---> http://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/2021353-official-2015-denon-s-series-x-series-avr-owner-s-thread-faq-hdcp-2-2-a.html#post34728793"JD" (aka jdsmoothie @ AVSForum.com)AVScience.com (authorized Denon dealer)
Question: Does the length of the usb cable affect the signal quality? my guess is that it doesn't, since the signal is digital. i want to avoid moving my pc
Answer: a. Not if you want to use the main zone surround speakers as the second HDMI output is for Zone 2 sources only, A better choice for a TV/PJ use case is either the X2200W or the X4200W both of which have a second main zone monitor output designed for using both a TV and PJ in the same room.b. Yes, all the 2015 Denon models (to include the X3200W) feature an HDMI Standby pass through capability with the default source being the cable/sat box (although this can be changed). For more info on this model ---> http://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/2021353-official-2015-denon-s-series-x-series-avr-owner-s-thread-faq-hdcp-2-2-a.html#post34728793"JD" (aka jdsmoothie @ AVSForum.com)AVScience.com (authorized Denon dealer)
Question: What sampling frequencies and bit depth does the A2D converter support
Answer: The Atmos 5.2.2 designation refers to 5 floor speakers, 2 subwoofers, and 2 "height" speakers (either mounted in the ceiling. on the ceiling, or using the new Dolby enabled upward firing modules that are placed on top of existing floor speakers to bounce the audio signal off the ceiling for a simulated height effect). Note however, that this AVR can also do a standard 7.2 setup as well so to answer your question, you can go either way.For more information on this model --> http://www.avsforum.com/forum/90-receivers-amps-processors/2021353-official-2015-denon-s-series-x-series-avr-owner-s-thread-faq-hdcp-2-2-a.html"JD" (aka jdsmoothie @ AVSForum.com)AVScience.com (authorized Denon dealer)
Question: I see the analog output jacks. Does the unit convert both ways? USB to analog? Or or these jacks just for pass through

User questions & answers

Question: Where is the Input located on this? I only see output
Answer: Mine appears to be coated aluminum...
Question: Will this system increase the volume of my phono
Answer: I have not used a wireless sub of any kind with this unit, but I would be surprised if this worked with a BT sub. The BT on this unit as far as I have read will pair with a device as an “input” to the receiver for audio but will not transmit to an external device. I would not count on using it this way.
Question: Can the amp wake up from standby when it receives a signal
Answer: Yes I am driving elac unifi ub5 with this. Kept it on 8ohm but can be switched to 4 ohms if you don’t want to live adventurously
Question: Does the volume control the output of the line levels, as well as the headphone
Answer: I just purchased this receiver. N803 and YES, hooked up my EQ. Here is how. 1st depends on how many INPUTS you have on your EQ. Mine has 6. Plug in devices you have into INPUTS you have on back of EQ. Phono, Tape, Tuner, Aux, etc. Device name is only to help you remember what is hocked up. where. You could plug in CD player into Tuner INPUT. It's just a memory thing. Now your OUTPUT on the EQ, hook to the back of your RECEIVER IN LINE 2 OR 3. NOT 1. You need an OUTPUT. This would be like adding a reel to reel to tape to. But you don't have to. [1 doesn't have an output.] I hooked up to [Line2] on receiver. Turn dial on receiver to [Line 2]. Control your devices you want to listen to on EQ, not the receiver. Receiver will always be [Line 2]. this set up allows you, if your EQ has memory to program each device, save the settings from one device to another. Change settings by a push of a button. You get double the punch. EQ plus the base and treble on Receiver. No sub-woffer needed. Good luck, have fun. I am

Music Fidelity V90-LPS MM/MC Phono Stage Pre-Amplifier, Black

Musical Fidelity

Based on 28 reviews Check latest price

Product description

The V90-LPS is a modestly priced, very high performance MM/MC phono stage with superb technical performance. In our opinion, there are five critical areas where a phono stage must achieve excellence: RIAA correction Correction above 20 kHz Low distortion Low noise Good overload margin The V90-LPS has extremely accurate RIAA correction and that extends up to 80 kHz and beyond. That may sound extreme, but there is a good deal of information above 20 kHz that needs correction. If it isn’t corrected, it will show itself as ringing and overshoot. The V90-LPS’s distortion is very low. Noise ratio is extremely low and all but inaudible. Overload margin is easily adequate for any current cartridge. All in all, the V90-LPS accomplishes everything necessary for a phono stage. There are many phono stages that are far more expensive and make extraordinary claims for their performance. In contrast, the modest V90-LPS just gets on with the job of doing everything you could reasonably expect from a phono stage. If you want top notch performance, and don’t care about the alleged conferred status of buying a high-priced product that offers no better performance than the V90-LPS, then we are of a like mind.

User questions & answers

Question: Does the power supply variable, 120-240voltage
Answer: It is 7"w x 6" d x 2" h. Not including connections on back. Let us know how else we may assist. Hi-Fi Heaven, Green Bay, WI. Since 1973
Question: What is the max output volts and output impedance
Answer: So is the included wall wart Rega power supply has a universal input voltage @ 110-240V?
Question: Does it work with USA power outlets
Answer: Yes, all you need is another set of RCA cables to connect between your amplifier/receiver and the phono preamplifier. The phono ground should go to the preamplifier. I use a similar setup with an SL1200 and orthofon blue. Sounds great. The preamp also works with moving coil cartridges - you can run almost any cartridge with it.
Question: how much is the lx-lps
Answer: In most ways, the 2015 model lineup is a light "refresh" or evolution of their 2014 predecessors, with relatively few changes overall. All of the basics and new features from last year -- like WiFi, Bluetooth, Spotify Connect, expanded "Option" menu for on-the-fly adjustments, ECO mode, etc. -- carry forward to the current lineup. Dimensions, specifications, remote controls, GUI etc. are virtually identical. For 99% of buyers, the big difference boils down to TWO important changes:1. HDCP 2.2 compliance - while last year's models technically supported 4K passthrough with full bandwidth HDMI 2.0, they did NOT have HDCP 2.2 compliance (the chipsets weren't available with both at this time last year). This made their "future proof-ness" dubious for anyone who anticipated a near term upgrade to 4K/UHD content. The new models are now as "future proof" as they can be in this respect, so folks can upgrade without concern about 4K/UHD support when these new standard begin to become mainstream.2. Comprehensive support of "Immersive Audio" - not only will DTS:X decoding be added to the party (in a future firmware update) along with Dolby Atmos, but D+M has made these new immersive audio codecs standard on ALL models (leaving aside the extremely entry level red-headed stepchild, the S510BT). Everything up to the X3200W is still a 7.1 model, so Atmos/DTS:X will be limited to a 5.1.2 setup (5.1 base layer plus 2 overhead speakers). As with their predecessors, the X4200W will be a 7.1 model that can expand to 9 channels with at least 2 channels of external amplification, and the X6200W will be 9ch built in with 11ch expansion.Any other changes are basically small potatoes. So should I get one of the 2015 models or nab a 2014 model at closeout pricing? In short, it depends on how important those two BIG changes above are to you.The decision is fairly simple, just ask yourself two questions: (1) do you foresee yourself upgrading to 4K/UHD in the near future? and (2) do you foresee yourself adding additional speakers for immersive audio support in the near future? If the answer to both questions is NO, then you are safe to buy an older model. So if you just got a new 1080p display, have no plans to buy anything 4K for a while, and can only accommodate a "standard" 5.1 or 7.1 layout, then there isn't much reason to pay the premium for a 2015 model.Don't worry about changing your mind in a few years -- processor technology is moving so rapidly these days that it's rarely a good idea to spend extra for features you won't actually use, just in case you MIGHT use them in 2 or 3 years. By that point, there will be some new must-have gizmos that you want, so it will be better to make a new, informed buying decision at that time.

Schiit Mani Phono Preamp for MC and MM Cartridges (Silver)

Based on 255 reviews Check latest price

Product description

  • Schiit Mani gives you the flexibility you need for both moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges, together with exceptionally accurate, and low-noise performance.
  • Accepting All Cartridges!

Many low-cost phono preamps are only good for typical moving-magnet (MM) cartridges. They don’t have the gain needed for moving coil (MC), or the flexibility for high-output MM cartridges like Decca, or high-output MC cartridges that that might end up somewhere in the middle of the gain range. Mani, with 4 switchable gain modes, (30, 42, 47, and 59dB) is ready for any cartridge you can throw at it.
  • Accurate, Quiet Passive RIAA Network

Mani’s RIAA network is implemented fully passively. What that means is there are no poles in the feedback loop, for more consistent sonic performance. Coupled with precision 2% film capacitors, 0.5% thin-film resistors, and super low-noise gain stages, Mani delivers superb accuracy and performance, even well beyond its modest price.
  • Designed and Assembled in USA

By “designed and assembled in USA" this is what we mean: the vast majority of the total production cost of Mani—chassis, boards, transformers, assembly, etc—goes to US companies manufacturing in the US. Our chassis are made minutes from our facility. Our PCBs are done just over the hill from us, or done in NorCal. Yes, the wall-warts are made in China, but there's some give and take at this price point.
  • 2-Year Warranty

Mani is covered by a limited warranty that covers parts and labor for two years. That’s 2x the coverage of most amps in this price range.

  • Can be used with moving-magnet (MM) cartridges, moving-coil (MC) cartridges, or high-output cartridges
  • Consistent sonic performance, super low-noise. 115VAC, USA Plug.
  • Four switchable gain modes: (30, 42, 47, and 59dB)
  • Accurate, quiet, passive RIAA Network
  • Designed and assembled in the USA from high quality components

Question: How do I order this in the black version
Answer: The manufacturer sells the silver and black versions directly from their website.
Question: Hello. can it be ordered in silver, 230v australian plug? many thanks, gustavo
Answer: Direct from their website yes.
Question: Ask please i have a pro ject carbon dc connected to my denon dra 800h if ill add this pre amp the sound quality will improve!? Thanks
Answer: It should. It is WAY BETTER sound quality than any built-in phono pre-amp on a receiver. I tried to connect my turntable to the phono input on my Yamaha RX-v685. The sound was uninspiring (to me). I then got the Schiit Mani and plugged my Pro Ject turntable into it and fed the output to the Yamaha Aux-in port (line level). The sound quality difference was dramatic. If you have a nice vinyl collection and turntable, get the Mani. You won't be disappointed. If you have a built-in pre or phono input on your receiver, you can compare and see for yourself as I did.
Question: Any one know if these are the latest version? v
Answer: I believe it is the latest version since it is coming from the manufacturer itself

Compatible with nearly any moving magnet cartridge, the phono box mm gives you a superb audiophile music experience at an entry-level price. The utilization of advanced circuitry keeps noise and distortion extremely low, and the metallic case and outboard DC power supply keeps the unit free from electromagnetic interference. User questions & answers

Question: Can i play vinyl from my B&O 3400 turntable & cartridge thru a vizio soundbar model# s4251w-b4? Do I need to use my pyramid sea2500x preamp too
Answer: Most likely. I go from my record player to this to a mixer. So I'm guessing your receiver probably has an aux in which is what you plug into from the art.
Question: Do i need to buy this for yamaha A-s801 integrated amp or that amp has a phono
Answer: Sansui? Ceramic's, as I recall, can run close to 1 V output. This preamp is designed for moving magnet cartridges (not moving coil) that produce ~ 5 mV output. Even at -10 dB on the gain/attenuation knob, it would still be too hot. 1 V with -10 dB attenuation is ~ 300 mV which is far more than supported. Per manufacturer, max input is 40 mV. So, no, this won't work with your ceramic cartridge.
Question: Just to be clear, my AVR (Onkyo tx-nr535) doesn't have a phono input. Do I connect the turntable to this device and plug this device into my AUX port
Answer: Without a ground wire, there may be a discernible hum. I have a Yamaha PF 1000 and the ground wire is is a must.
Question: How can i tell if my pioneer pl-460 is mm or mc
Answer: I've had both, and kept the DJpre. There's a thread on an audio science forum where a user conducted a thorough level-matched test of both the Pluto and the DJpre with an oscilloscope and other precision instruments. They both performed very well, but the DJpre came out decidedly on top in several key categories. Whether that translates to a noticeable difference in sound quality depends on the listener, but the DJpre is empirically better than the already good Pluto. He also found that the DJpre performed best when the low cut rumble filter was on--not only did it kill the sub-20hz sounds, it actually boosted the audible frequency response across the board (particularly the highs where the Pluto tends to roll off). This is easily the best phono pre at $50 and under, and performs better than units costing twice as much. You'd have to spend $250+ to get a better pre, and even then it'll only be a miniscule improvement.

User questions & answers

Question: Does it come with a felt mat for the platter
Answer: No. This is a preamplifier and not a digital-to-analog converter. The USB is intended to connect to your computer that utilizes Audacity or any other audio editing software to record your vinyl to either your hard drive or your MP3 player like the iPod. For its price, it's a very good preamplifier from a reliable time-tested company like Rega.
Question: Does this sound better than the P1 + Fono Mini
Answer: Thanks for your question. All Rega products imported to the U.S. are UL approved to operate at 110volts with supplied AC cord and plug. World Wide Stereo is 40 years old and a proud authorized Rega dealer.
Question: Is it direct drive or belt
Answer: Thanks for your question. The Rega FONO is a moving coil cartridge preamplifier, connected between the turntable with a moving coil cartridge and a line input on an amplifier. World Wide Stereo is 42 years old and a proud authorized Rega dealer.
Question: why have a phone integrated
Answer: One should not use a moving magnet cartridge with a phono preamp designed for a moving coil cartridge – or vice versa. Indeed, Rega makes a Fono MM phono preamp specifically designed for moving magnet cartridges. They also make the Aria MK3 that has both MM and MC phono stages; however, it is significantly more expensive. If you have a MM cartridge and want to use a Rega phono preamp, then go with the Fono MM.
