User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use this preamp on a Numark pt1 scratch turntable |
Answer: | Yes you can,but this device is cheap as crap. It didn’t work fresh out the box.It only worked with the 9v battery. The DC plug input had like a shortage or something.I had seen all the 1 star reviews but I tried my luck and yeah, no luck at all. |
Question: | would the preamp work with a shure c608 microphone or the impedance is to much off. 2.what is the current draw?. 3 how long the battery lasts |
Answer: | You need to purchase a preamp that is designed for the input that you are using. Microphone inputs and phono inputs are not the same. Behringer designs different preamps for each of those functions. Check them out. |
Question: | I have a turntable with RCA jacks out, then Logitech speakers with a converter from a headphone-type jack to RCA jacks. Do I just need a preamp |
Answer: | Yes. You can hook the turntable's RCA jacks to the speaker RCA jacks and get audio. However, if it's an older turntable it may not be grounded, and you will hear a humming sound. Also, your audio will be very low in volume. The pre-amp will eliminate the humming sound, and give you the volume you desire. |
Question: | I have an Audio Technica AT-LP60 and Lepai LP-2020A+ Tripath TA2020 Class-T Hi-Fi Audio Amplifier with Power Supply, would I still need a preamp |
Answer: | I have the Bluetooth model so your internal pre-amp may or may not be different but I route my turntable through a midi device with onboard sampling and the built in preamp is not enough to boost the signal to useable levels. You can test yours out but I know I need a preamp. |

User questions & answers
Question: | If I have a record player without a Preamp, will this help me with hooking it up to a Sonos |
Answer: | You can hook it up to anything with a red and white connection. Or if you get the rca to 3.5mm jack then you can hook it up to anything with an input slot. I used this on my realistic lab 440 which doesn't have a preamp. Once I connected the ground from my turntable into the ground slot on this amp, my music sounded loud and clear. |
Question: | mp |
Answer: | Turntables (with typical magnetic cartridges) have very low signal output (a few thousandths of a volt). Records have the bass reduced to provide enough room on the surface for the recorded grooves, and the treble boosted to reduce the surface noise level when played back. A phono preamplifier performs two jobs: - It boosts the small signal from the turntable by about 50 to 100 times (producing a "line level" signal) so it can be used by typical receivers or amplifiers.- It also boosts the bass and reduces the treble according to an industry standard (the RIAA equalization curve) to restore the signal from the record to its original frequency response. The Pyle PP999 is just an inexpensive phono preamp, nothing special. Phono preamps can range from $20 on up to whatever you're willing to pay for ultra-high quality. Some manufacturers make "USB" phono preamps that have A/D (analog-to-digital) converters built in and connect to a computer's USB port. Most of these provide "CD quality" conversion (16-bits at 44kHz or 48kHz). These may be adequate for digitizing your vinyl, but many computer sound systems can provide up to 24-bit, 192 kHz conversion depending on the software you use (much higher quality), by connecting the preamp output to the computer's line input. Don't just convert directly to MP3 files...you'll lose too much detail compared to the original vinyl sound. It takes almost no time to make an MP3 copy of a high bit-rate WAV or FLAC (lossless) file, but it'll take you an hour to make ANY digital copy of an LP, so do it the best you can the first time! |
Question: | So this is a stupid question, I plug my RCA wires coming from my turntable into the Amp. But where do I plug the speaker wires into on the Amp |
Answer: | TurnTable==>PreAmp==>Receiver/Amplifier==>SpeakersThe 'Pyle PP999' is the "Preamp". The Turntable is plugged into the PP999 INPUT and the PP999 OUTPUT plugs directly into any (non Phono) INPUT on the receiver. Your Receiver allows you to switch between different music-sources, contains the primary-amplifier and distributes the final sound out to the speakers(and subwoofer). The Receiver should have multiple inputs for receiving signals from eg. CD, Tape, VCR, etc. In my experience those labels are for convenience and interchangeable with the exception of a "Phono" input. NOTE: If the receiver has a "Phono" input then there's a built-in preamp. If your using an external preamp (Pyle PP999) do NOT plug it into the Receiver's 'Phono' input, it could cause damage. I plug the preamp for the turntable into the Receiver's 'VCR' or 'TV' inputs. |
Question: | I have the Pyle turntable and Pyle stereo but they don't work together--VERY low sound--so is this the missing piece |
Answer: | Turntables (with typical magnetic cartridges) have very low signal output (a few thousandths of a volt). Records have the bass reduced to provide enough room on the surface for the recorded grooves, and the treble boosted to reduce the surface noise level when played back. Most modern receivers DO NOT have the right inputs to deal with this signal (no "phono" input). User questions & answers
Question: | My PYLE PLTTB9U did save an MP3 file to the USB but my computer can't read it. Does any one have any help |
Answer: | it's a pos. sounds like a $5 transister radio. |
Question: | Is the record player automatic or manual (tone arm |
Answer: | The arm has to be manually moved over the record. It does not move there automatically. Once you get over the spot you desire, a lever drops the arm down slowly. |
Question: | Belt size used in plttb9u |
Answer: | Sorry, I never used mine. However, I looked at the Pyle's website, and their on-line manual Nothing there on belt. You can go to their site by searching PYLE PLTTB9U, and you will find contact info, support, etc. |
Question: | Exactly what does "upgraded" mean in relation to this item |
Answer: | My guess is it may not be what is pictured exactly but very similar item. In any even I would suggest steering clear of these and similar price ranged items. The sound quality is just not there! I have a semi-pro DJ system (big sound) and I thought I can get one of these numbers and convert my older house/disco/dance music to MP3 and once I did that my BIG SOUND DJ system would take over & fill out whatever sound was lacking from this small sound item. To my shock what I recorded to MP3 flash drive was JUST AS inferior as the machine that converted the LP to MP3. That is when I realized cheap don't really get "upgraded" regardless. I KNEW the sound from this item would leave LOTS to be desired. I had NO IDEA that which was left was in no way shape or form AVAILABLE when using his machine and transferring end result MP3 to ANOTHER far superior system TOO???. The sound was tinny, distorted & even when I call myself blasting the volume (on DJ system) it was OOH NO do not put that on any listeners ears EVER! It's a SIN to not wish upon your worst enemy on the dance floor! ALSO with these low end machines there is an issue of WHEN it STARTS recording. There seems to be some sort of lag time where even though you PRESSED "record", the machine tends to STILL start recording AFTER the song on the LP has begun playing!!! So you have this music just ABRUPTLY cranking onto your set unceremoniously. I just thought the ELECTRONIC version of recorded music is SUPPOSED to be ...well... an "UPGRADE" from the vinyl!!! This thing is just making matters worse than having the LP! I think the more high end of these machines have to be the way to go! I was dense enough to attempt buying a SECOND similar one (after the first one pictured here decided to just stop recording to MP3 altogether, I guess the sound was so awful the machine put ITSELF out of it's misery) the replacement looked better and seemed to promise a better experience by “Wockoder” ASIN# B083SGNC9T I may try to picture it. It was almost identical experience with slightly different issues summing up to these things are not for the more refined ears. If you just want to play old records & NOT bother recording them & don't need to have a FULL SOUND FILL the ROOM experience of your music go ahead it will be like an old Victrola nostalgic kind of experience so so machine so so sound. But if you need MORE listening pleasure THIS AINT IT! & again I was not smart enough to send back in time so I'm stuck with not ONE but TWO mistakes sitting there laughing at me in unison...until I play my DJ system and drown out my sorrows. |

And this unit also has phone charging function which means you can charge you phone through any of the 4 USB ports. Hope this answers your question. |
Question: | How to use device for recording |
Answer: | It depends. I heard it last night at midnight from across the house. The kids had set the wrong time on this, their, alarm clock. It wasn’t loud enough to wake them up though. |
Question: | Can you use it to record from vinyl to cassette |
Answer: | No but it keeps excellent time |
Question: | Does this have a cd player |
Answer: | No, my pair 2300 watt boss phantoms lasted a month on this amp that only pushes 1700 watts max per amp dyno on YouTube. But nan they sounded nice till I fried them |
Question: | Does it have built in speakers |
Answer: | It's best to wire these subs in series 4ohm to an amp that pushes no more than 600 to 700 watts from an 4ohm load... these subs are 2300 watts peak but rms is 1150... Ive used these subs for four months now and I am sending about 600 watts rms into my subs they truly sound amazing and hands down for the price can't be beaten...if you are a beginner Google Crutchfield wiring diagrams for 4ohm dvc subs and you will get a better idea of how to wire them... also any style amp will work you just need to check their 4ohm load ratings before you purchase it... |
Question: | Is this record player to plug into an outlet ? I do not want it to plug into my computer |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. At this time we do not offer shipping services to Guam. Thanks |
Question: | Is the arm automatic or manual |
Answer: | no you have to purchase 2 of em if memory serves me correct. |
Question: | Do I need to buy an amp/stereo with this or can I plug it right in to my speakers with the rca output |
Answer: | No, I guess you could if you wanted too but these are just regular car speakers if you did put an amp it would have to be a very low wattage or risk blowing the speaker. |
