Answer: As with most things (sadly) it was made in China. It is a very attractive clock, but unfortunately I can't give much of a review. I bought the clock in January 2020 to replace an atomic clock (generic) we had for several years. Unfortunately, it stopped working on or about April 21. We changed the battery and nothing. Hit reset battery - nothing. Tried manual set - again nothing. I had purchased a large (14") LaCrosse atomic last year for office and it is very attractive and working fine. Therefore, I ordered a 10" LaCrosse to replace the Sharp. This is probably not what you wanted to hear, but I could not answer your question without being completely honest.

Question: Will this unit play mp3 tunes from the usb port
Answer: I've got 300 Mbps write and 390 Mbps Read speeds using Thunderbolt ports in my Mac Mini, I really doubt yo can get 5 GGbps in USB 3,0. Those are theoretical limits.I guess 250/300 Mbps write and 350 Mnbps read would be better estimates.
Question: Really like this, but can't separate tracks from what I read, is there software that can do that
Answer: It has been a fantastic investment for me and plan to purchase another one. I use mine primarily for active sound production on my 2015 MacBook Pro. But have also had success with video editing. It has fast transfer rate and is quiet. As opposed to high speed discs, being solid state it should not be susceptible to failure.
Question: Do we need a receiver
Answer: No you can not, I tired. The included SSD is a pure PCB board designed for the enclosure (custom fit and screw hole layout). A Samsung 850 EVO would not fit as it is thicker than the included SSD and the screw holes do not line up.

Answer: Yes, running mine on APFS.

Answer: it comes with screw drivers. Do not know what aluminum enclosure you are looking for. It was not needed in my computer. Just take one board and slide in the other.

Answer: No, it does not include an enclosure. As I understand, there is a new model, called "JetDrive 825", that comes with an enclosure (w/Firewire interface).

Answer: Depends on how it is being used:If installed in a laptop -- it comes from the computerIf attached to a interface/USB converter, the default is also from the computer (it uses very LITTLE power)But the (my) converter also supplies a power cable to independently supply power (which was never needed)
